Besides two orthodox churches a synagoge and a police station were also attacked (I'm guessing to delay the response). Reported that ten police officers, two priests and a security guard also lost their lives.
There was no hostage situation apparently, IS doesn't bother with that, and the terrorists are supposedly now dead.
