Based on a book by Andy Weir, the author of The Martian. Extremely excited about this one. One of the best, really well thought-out hard sci-fi books about the first contact, IMHO.

Saw that one, enjoyed it in parts and Sir Hopkins obviously.
However mixed feelings towards the end. Otherwise not too bad. Sorry for the review in this thread, that wasn’t a memorable movie that I forgot to go post in the plain movie thread instead.

Strong Apocalypto vibes.
I "fell in love" with the Japanese "slow life" and slice of life" animations when I was an old man, they help me a lot when I'm having a shitty day.
One of the top anime studios, Kyoto Animation, is coming out with a sequel to a series that has been running for two seasons, a movie based on a storyline from the manga.
I recommend it for the whole family.
