During the extended mission, the bombers integrated with Norwegian joint terminal attack controller personnel in the Nordic region, then through the Arctic Circle and into the northern Pacific to support U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, the Air Force said.

The lengthy mission required far-reaching aerial refueling, with flying tankers from three major commands linking up with the bombers.

Refueling tankers came from the 100th Air Refueling Wing, Royal Air Force, Mildenhall, England; the 92nd Air Refueling Wing, Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash.; the 36th Wing, Andersen Air Force Base, Guam; the Hawaii Air National Guard’s 154th Wing, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii; and the 60th Air Mobility Wing, Travis Air Force Base, Calif.

Antarctic patrol ship HMS Protector has sailed to within 1,050 kilometres of the North Pole during her first patrol of the Arctic. Only the RN’s nuclear submarines surfacing in the ice have got closer.
Protector is fitted with a Multi-Beam Echo Sounder (MBES) for hydrographic work and conducted surveys of the sea bed – between 2,000 and 3,000 metres deep in the Fram Strait. She also collected oceanographic data about the North Atlantic currents, observed marine mammals, and helped the BAS with its work studying the polar ice cap. The ship eventually reached her most northerly position of 80°41.5 North in the Greenland Sea.

Muslims have problems to observe Ramadan in Arctic.
It is a religious obligation for Muslims to fast during the month of Ramadan and the requirement is to begin fasting each day when a white thread can be distinguished from a black thread at dawn; fasting ends when the two threads become indistinguishable once again at dusk.
The arctic regions experience a phenomenon known as midnight sun around the summer solstice During this time period there is little or no darkness in any twenty-four hour period, so the traditional means of distinguishing the fasting period of daylight cannot be used.

Nevertheless they started to move in.

Midnight Sun Mosque in Inuvik, Canada, Amier Suliman said about it: "This is the first minaret to be erected in the Arctic ...some will say it's a new frontier for Islam".

Earlier it became known about the plans of the US military to improve the operational system of missile defense due to new developments of "opponents", including hypersonic missiles.

IMHO the worst possible choice of weapon, unless in reality they are worried about a Spetznas attack. Killing predators in arctic condition with an automatic or semiautomatic rifle is risky.

EDIT: might have to reformulate: Semi-autos and autos are at a high risk of the action freezing up in such low temperatures, thus a bolt action should be the first choice in arctic conditions. AFAIK the Sirius Patrol still uses the P17.

The U.S. Department of the Navy has awarded VT Halter Marine as the Prime Contractor for a US$745,940,860 (about S$1b) fixed-price incentive-firm contract in 2019 for the detail design and construction of the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Polar Security Cutter (PSC). The PSC contract is a multi-year programme and a USCG major system acquisition to acquire up to three multimission PSCs to recapitalise the USCG fleet of heavy icebreakers and replace the four-decades old Polar Star heavy icebreaker.

Was Trump right (again) after all?
In August 2019, President Trump was ridiculed for reportedly expressing an interest in buying Greenland
“Greenland is a strategic place… they’ve got a lot of valuable minerals,” he explained in August 2019, and he was right: Danish surveys have found that the owner of the island would stake a claim to around 900,000 sq km of the continental shelf in the Arctic Ocean.

there is also - not surprisingly - a race for supremacy with China over the island's future. So far, Washington has prevented Beijing from financing three airports on Greenland that would give it a toehold on the strategically important island - which is also the world's largest by square mileage - something the US military refuses to risk. And though it has vast natural resources across its 811,000 square miles, Greenland relies on $591 million of subsidies from Denmark annually, which makes up about 60% of its annual budget.

So, instead of American taxpayers reaping the potential benefits (as per Trump's strategy), the billionaire elites will get richer and control more of this critical resource.

All of which leaves us with one simple question - what does this group of billionaire elites know? Is this them front-running the 'great reset'?

“A command and staff exercise has kicked off for the Northern Fleet under the direction of its Commander Hero of Russia Admiral Alexander Moiseyev to practice command and control of troops and forces,” the fleet’s press office said. “Overall, the drills involve more than 10,000 personnel, 70 items of the armor, up to 15 aircraft, and about 30 combat ships, submarines, and support vessels.”
