Part of an organised crime war over control of the area. Yesterday another shootout occurred at that same station, one was shot in the leg, and last night the first fatal shooting occurred. All in the lovely neighborhood *ahum* of Anderlecht.

Yes. I have pics on a flash drive somewhere of armed patrols cruising the airport. Also near EU HQ in Brussel. There were a number of protestors who planned a demonstration there but were restricted to scrawling furious screeds on the sidewalk with chalk. The platoon watching them seemed amused.

Aaaaaand the driver is a 20yo Afghan migrant who was required to leave the country.
Correction, 24 (not 20, though some said he was 26, but that does not really matter in the end) yo Afghan asylum seeker drove into a crowd near Munich’s central train station, injuring 28 people.
The attack occurred during a trade union demonstration with 2,500 attendees.
The suspect, who had prior convictions and a rejected asylum application, was arrested at the scene.

Because, just like with many other issue, the actions are not guided by pragmatism or driven by realistic outcomes, in addition to being aimed at wrong issues, but by emotion and hyperbolic histrionics.
This. Kind. Of. Outcome. Was. Warned. About.
And. It. Was. Ignored.
Moral of the story? Well... no matter how cruel and tasteless as it may sound: serves you right. You were warned repeatedly. These warnings got dismissed as gullible foolishness, conspiracy theories, and the, now made utterly meaningless, oh so tired "racism".
What more do you effing need to learn your lesson?? How many times do these things need to happen for you to learn your effing lesson??
Apparently, many more of these "incidents", many more deaths, many more wounded and maimed, many more lives destroyed.
Unless, of course, these are acceptable collateral in order to reach the dreamed promise land. Which seems to be the TOS of the political parties that have allowed this to happen.

A man wielding a knife tried to enter the Dutch parliament around 18:30 local time during a debate on the main Dutch port of entry for asylum seekers. He was stopped by the Marechaussee and arrested. The debate was briefly paused.
