Terror News about terrorism

An explosion has occurred in a flat in The Hague during the night, completely obliterating at least 10 residences. Specialist teams are clearing the rubble to look for survivors. At least 20 people are suspected of having been inside.

The ground floor housed among others a dentistry practice, a bridal store and a pub.

I'm putting this in the terrorism thread because the police are investigating a car that sped off right after the explosion.

Attacks with illegal fireworks and handgrenades against businesses and residential buildings by criminals have become extremely common. Mayors often close sites for months afterwards out of public safety concerns, making it a popular tool to damage opponents and intimidate citizens not playing ball. Perhaps something dangerous was stored in the building without the attacker(s) knowing about it?

One dead and three injured recovered so far. Search is hampered by the building's instability, changes in nature from rescue to recovery.

The mayor confirmed one smaller explosion and a big one.

Less than 12 months ago a similar type of building exploded and one of the occupants had an in-house drug lab ...

Gas leak maybe?
Could be, but that would be a single explosion.

An illegal fireworks storage is another possibility. Only last week someone was arrested for having over 600 Cobras in his house.

No more credible informations on this one so far @Mike1976?
Dutch police are apparently still looking for the car that sped away really fast.
A friend of mine live relatively close to this neighborhood and I reached out to him. He used to walk around there during Covid lockdown and is safe, but the explosion leaves us so far with a question mark.

The Minister of Justice says that there are indicators of crime, but the police is still looking at other possibilities.

1) The bridal shop was only partially filled with thousands of euros worth of wedding dresses
2) The shop was constantly being renovated
3) No women were ever seen in the shop
4) The building used to be a gym
5) Under the gym, so underground, there was a sauna, showers and space for group lessons when the gym was still there.

Unknown what the space underground was currently like.

Looks like at least a money-laundering operation and possibly a drug lab.

Haiti gang kills 110 people accused of witchcraft
At least 110 mostly elderly people have been brutally murdered by gang members in the Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince, according to a human rights group. The National Human Rights Defence Network (RNDDH) said a local gang leader had targeted them after his son fell ill and subsequently died. The gang leader reportedly consulted a voodoo priest who blamed elderly locals practising "witchcraft" for the boy's mystery illness.

Three people have been arrested and several cars impounded.

No druglab was found and there wasn't a gas leak either.

RS is known for it's "journalistic standards", or lack thereof. One will remember who they ran the story relative to a group of young men of the Duke lacrosse team involved in a "gang-rape".
Which, ultimately turned out to be a hoax.
Speaking of this event...
