"Authorites reporting that the suspects body was burned beyond recognition; however he was identified by his passport and military ID, which survived intact."

Green Beret ... Desert Eagle ... nope.

The choice of weapon, the poor man's explosives, the poor choice of vehicle, the sequence of events ... 🐟

Could just as easily be some homeless patsy.

Makes no sense shooting yourself when your plan is to blow yourself up.

It was a symbolic gesture is what my take is, and he knew it because he was able to do much, much, more deadlier damage if he really wanted to, than that clown world show of gas and sparklers.

They found a clacker, but that clacker had no dead man switch in it. There's some F'ery afoot still.

I still know when I am being lied to.

The chap who parked the Tesla in Vegas was an serving Green beret on leave from Germany !! . What on earth would make him do that !!!?? .

Was it the plan to create the false impression that is was ie ISIS ..So that when when Trump is in office he reverts his Middle East Policy ?? What on earth is there to gain in Syria ??.

Lots of bro-vets are very cringe and far from being competent with the things they are supposed to be familiar with due to their training. Lots of lack of professionalism as well, along with blatant disregard for safety rules and procedures. Either because of complacency, lack of knowledge, lack of maturity, etc...

A good chunk of them live in a whole self-congratulatory bubble originating from the fact they are "part of the elite" by having been able to pass the entry exam.

He could have been part of that cringe-crew.

True generally, but for someone who's been in an OD-A for 20 years?

Green Berets aren't a specialised unit, they're the most versatile of special operations units. With that much time in and the amount of cross-training he'll have had at least basic knowledge and competence across the board. Being a jack-of-all-trades is kind of their thing.

And I've never ever heard any S(O)F member say anything positive about a Desert Eagle for actual use. It's like a Mk.23, but even far, far worse.

Maybe he was a nutjob, but how ingrained such training and experience is I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't have fallen back on it.

None of it makes sense to me.

Could be some sketchy shenanigans.

Or he could have been that one jackass.

Yeah, D-E is not great for practical use, but people still love it for its cool factor. They hate shooting it, they probably only shot it once, if ever, but still have one because... big chonk.

Desert Eagles are accurate and fun to play with, but I've no interest in owning one - just too bulky. Actually, they're so heavy, recoil isn't much of an issue. But for carry, I'll stick with my H&K P7 in 9mm. (For the record, I am not or never was any kind of special forces - just a gun nut.)

Look at you, shamelessly flexxing on the poor! :D
Elitist p***k

He'll be lecturing us on his refined taste in wine next and his choice of truck gun for his '66 Mustang shopping trolley.
