I'd say it's normal and acceptable to speculate, but one should not misrepresent speculations as facts and always be very clear about the distinction. Even though the term "fake news" comes from the right, it is just as apt at producing fake news as the left. One example would be an outlet often quoted in this forum: Visegrad24. It wouldn't be as bad as it is if they at least took down their incorrect posts and issue some sort of apology or clarification. However, they just put their agenda above the truth.
