Politics New Zealand Election October 2023

Labour; left wing too much, tax your population and workers, impose draconian environmental policies and then probably gets defeated by a more right wing coalition.

Is it likely that ACT and National will work just fine together as a coalition? No or few discrepancies over policies?

Announced they would cut GST on vegetables.. When quizzed about at what stage of processing veges do they no longer get GST the PM deferred to the normal labour response of ... dunno. The minister of finance and cup cakes was equally puzzling as he had been recorded years ago saying it was not even a workable idea.
Thats Labour though announces baseless plans for their audience of hand me down voters, wastes millions on Wellington civil servant love.

ACT jokes that if Labour announced full communism to be implemented National's policy would be "we would do it more efficiently".

National are very much the party of the status quo. They talk big about changing/repealing Labour policies when in opposition but almost never do when in government. ACT are much more of a "change is needed" party.

Greens want less cows. They would prefer a money less society.
Farming runs on tight margins. A few less cows plus their greens taxes on top is no farm in an internationally competitive produce market where the Chinese finally are at near self sufficiency for dairy. Thanks to an own goal by dairy farmers that supplied them with the livestock to do it.
Also as they ban NZ cows then chinese cows will simply replace them, chinese dairy production produces more hot house gases than NZ system.
Green ideas F***ed in both directions.

It's guna be a S**t show of a election with all sorts of bullshit promises being thrown around that will be retracted afterwards for "reasons" from both sides.
And i just don't trust polls lol

Kept calm and fired them. But if that's the new norm...not many will be left standing. Firing for controversial comment such as the Taxcindy send you to Gulag (I paraphrase) the press quickly spun into Nazi concentration camp. Which made no sense as she is a devout communist.
Woke sensitivities have warped NZ.

The problem is it shows a lack luster approach to the vetting, and if the act team can't get that right then what else are they saying "she'll be right" to?
Seymour saying that two years worth of social meda is alot to go through? Yeah right. 🤦‍♂️ we all know how the media will dig for anything, and we all know how tumultuous the last 3 years have been.
It's a basic failure and ACT should have done better.
Thats not to say that any of the other parties won't suffer the same fate. Believing their own bullshit seems to be a hallmark of a politician.

Billy Joel. She'll always be a woman to me
She’ll Always Be Cindy To Me:

She’s like tits on a bull, but the left idolise her,
Our team of five million? She sold it to Pfizer
It’s not chauvinism, or misogyny,
She can declare her pronouns but she’ll always be Cindy to me.

She can pretend to care, she can furrow her brow,
She can fix housing markets, just don’t ask her how,
And she prints lots of money, like it grows on a tree,
Blame it on someone else now that petrol’s at $3.33.

Oh…. She takes care of your health. Socialism by Stealth,
It’s a vast over reach

Oh… and she’s painfully woke, and she can’t take a joke,

She just calls it hate speech.

She’s vain to a fault, she’s flaky and fickle
She’s building back better with hammer and sickle,

She’s Lenin in leggings, she’s a trotting Trotsky,

We’re the next Venezuela, and she’ll always be Cindy to me.

Hmmmmm…..

Oh…. She takes care of herself, Redistributes your wealth,
Waves her hands like a mime.

Oh… has her snout in the trough, before galloping off,

She’s just biding her time.

She tells you be kind when she’s really quite cruel,
If somebody sneezes she’ll shut down your school,
But she will be evicted in 2-23,
But she’ll get a job by just calling Klaus Schwab

And she’ll always be Cindy to me.

Hmmmmmm….. Hmmmm…..CANCELLED

This is wrong.
A farmer who was outbid by a forestry company when she tried to buy a new farm says carbon forestry is pushing up land prices to levels farmers cannot afford.
Gisborne sheep and beef farmer Kerry Worsnop said she attempted to buy a farm on three occasions but was outbid by forestry companies each time.
She now withdrew from bidding if a forestry company was also interested in a farm, Worsnop said.
Instead she has leased land and did not see an opportunity to buy land soon, she said.

Another day another drama......
National MP Tim van de Molen stood down from all portfolios https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/politica...m-van-de-molen-stood-down-from-all-portfolios

if you read through the other linked pages on that article we have a Labour MP who can't remember he has shares in Auckland Airport even when he is the Transport Minister, and an ACT mp who obviously didn't read the rule book properly.

If i could change 3 things it would be,
1) Four year term to actually let them get S**t done with out worrying about the next election.
2) Term limits. no more than 4 terms. 16 years is enough, go find another job after that.
3) No political parties. i want to be voting for the best of us, who can discuss and reason and have differences of opinion with out having to toe a party line.

"She can fix housing markets, just don’t ask her how," It will be great to see the end of their pulpit govt.

Greens co-leader Shaw and self made economist was asked about his wealth taxes and how much capital flight it would create. He had calculated 25% of the rich money goes poof overseas and said it without any concern. Create a depression and would carry on taxing what is left over. The great green equation.
Have to admire the simplicity of their constituents.

Shaw doubled down on crazy. After proding by the debate mediator Shaw with a matter of fact expression on his face, announces that farms will need to have 20% less stock.

And ACT and NZ First leaders essentially came out and said neither trusts the other 🤦‍♂️doesn't make for a good look as potential coalition partners. I wonder if that will play more into hands of National in regards to getting people who were potentially going to split their vote to give both ticks to the Nats?

We need a Sky news channel here to re-balance the sheer amount of propaganda. The audience were clapping at some really daft ideas.
How hard can it be. We have a channel that repeats shows from the 70's. Chinese and Indians have their own channels but no room for a conservative one.
They applaud the green ideas ...buy overseas carbon credits build wind and solar farms is free, interview the 20 to 30 years olds and they all believe the world is about to burn at a temperature when the Roman empire was at its zenith. Of course they won't be stopping using their own cars and overseas travel.

NZ is a two horse town at the edge of the world, either it is labour or "slightly less labour" national. What little I caught of the minor party debate last night reminded me of a farcical pantomime where dullards clapped on que for anything anti national, and the "leaders" spent more time backbiting than explaining their policies and why I should vote for them. MMP is not working for the people, only the politicians.

I despair for the future of New Zealand.
