Here we go for apparently a second round, part deux of the elders duo fighting for the oval office in DC. The thread to discuss anything related to the election. Likely Biden v Trump.

For more Biden/Trump talks, debates, current events of course we’re keeping their own designated threads running.

The 250 year old toddler who saved their ass, and a lot more nations in WWII. Most of EU was occupied and surrendered to Germany. Russian didn't have much of anything except cannon fodder. Obviously they never learned any history, especially the lend lease act that made sure they had what was needed to fight on and survive. Lots of thanks from the same types that actually started WWII, even repeating history today and losing their ass again. Today only world despots still support pootin. I try not to say Russians because I still think there are a lot of good Russians left who are perfectly normal except they live under a tyrant. Much like we Americans today under this criminal gang in our oval office. The noose grows ever tighter for this bunch we have. These idiots we have actually thought they could do anything by destroying our laws, however it does the exact opposite and will make it possible to hang some of them. Even this morning it was announced fjb signed a bill to pay off student debt even after he was told by the supreme court he did not have the authority, only under different names is this new attempt penned. It also will be struct down and sooner than the last one simply because the tyrant bastard thinks he is the king. By the way this pay off of student debt cost more than our Army yearly budget. It's like living in a fun house not knowing what is going to pop up in the dark.

Slavic history, of raping, plundering and generally spliffing up the wall? That mighty civilisation? And I'd add, mostly to their slavic brothers....

Do they have to elect them so often? The current guy barely learned his new home address.

Slavs are fairly efficient at killing each others, like a certain ethnicity in the Sand Box further south.

Stop trusting polls with all due respect @Chazman because according to them, Hillary would have been POTUS in 2016, and so many others where they have been wrong.

I realize they are necessary for both parties in the US, I think this one is for Trump next November.

I don’t follow Joe Biden thread closely here - last I had checked it it was mostly and rightly about his toilet incidents or his last phone conversation with current French President Francois Mitterrand.

I agree, polls should be taken with a grain of salt. Traditionally they are skewed in favor of Dems for whatever reason. The reason this one is significant is that NH is a safe haven for democrats This poll shows Trump and Biden essentially tied. You'd expect Biden to be up by 10-20 points here.

NH has now become another battle ground state, which Biden will have to commit resources to in order not to lose. I believe he was just there to shore up his support.

Finally, Biden endorses Trump.

As far as I am concerned, the repubs seem to be working hard to lose this coming election. Vance? He doesnt appeal to anyone outside of a narrow demographic, that doesnt exist in the numbers necessary to win an election, and the selection ONLY impresses the people that were going to vote for Trump anyway...
He brings absolutely NOTHING to the table. He is not going to swing some undecided types that might have gone for Trump if he had picked a certain few other people that I can think of...
The 2025 project or whatever it is called?? C'mon, stop trying to legislate morality.... If you want that kind of change, it will take AT LEAST a generation, and a whole lot of other social issues to fall in place as well.
The repubs are fighting this culture war like its its 1970, or something.
The right/conservative/repubs, whatever you want to call them, have had a HUGE chance to reel in millions of disaffected voters that dont feel like the either the dems or repubs represent them or care about them. The repubs had a chance to really reinvent themselves, to bring these people into the fold and REPRESENT them... Instead we get people like Graham, and McConnell, and Romney, and MTG etc etc....
Of course, the individuals on the left side are far far worse, a REAL basket of deplorables, and there is more of them, but thats NOT how you win, by pointing out how bad the other side is...
I can think of a million things the repubs could have/should have done to expand their reach.
I think Trump is going to lose, that is my prediction. Regardless of who the democraptic presidential candidate is.

Yeah but that's also because people just keep re-electing these dinosaurs. Incumbent candidates have a huge advantage in primaries and elections alike.

Again, I keep hearing little tid bits form the RNC..... and its just garbage after garbage after garbage, things that NO VOTER cares about. holy dogshit, whats wrong with these people?
the repubs at this point are simply the lesser of two evils. More like the lesser of blatant incompetence and tone deafness....

At this point I think the Democrats primary election problem is that they have ignored multiple constituencies in their own party for decades. The rank and file in labor groups, poor people, minorities, and the center left have different concerns from the policy objectives of the major players in the Democratic party. This isn't new, this has been going on for 30 years at least. And the veil is starting to slip.

Candidate Trump actually realized these soft spots and actively targeted them. The Democratic Party response was fight fire with fire and turn up the heat. It didn't work. Quite the opposite. It made them appear even more disconnected to several of their traditional core constituencies.

The Democrats have called every Republican a racist who hates poor people all the way back to President Nixon. At a certain point (sometime during President Obama's term) that signal became noise and less effective.

So turning up the same heat against the Trump candidacy was not only ineffective, it was counter productive. Because Trump has an uncanny ability to turn any message to his advantage. The only thing he couldn't take is silence.

Honestly, the Republican party was moving on after President Trump's term ended.

And then the Democratic party, various prosecutors, MSNBC, and some others, went for the one thing you should never ever go for in hardcore politics. Vengeance. They kept him from being forgotten with more free publicity than I have ever seen. They brought him back from obscurity.

In hardcore brass-knuckles politics no professional political operative will ever advise going after somebody for any reason other than to create an advantage for yourself. Pursuing Trump when he was out of office served no purpose. Except Trump's.

Unwise.
