'He said that I did it deliberately,' Baldwin replied in astonishment. 'Just when you think things can't get any more surreal, here's the president of the United States making a comment on this tragic situation'
After watching the interview it shows that he has no idea how the gun works and no idea that he has implicated himself as being the final failure that caused her death.
The shot they were trying to get was of him cocking the hammer, so he was pulling back on the hammer to make sure it could be seen. When she said yep we can see that he released the hammer and the gun went off.
"but i didn't pull the trigger", guy is trying to shift the blame to anyone but himself.

Commendation to you for mustering the strength to watch the whole thing, I haven't been able to make it through the end.
"So I take the gun and I start to cock the gun. I’m not going to pull the trigger. I said, ‘Do you see this?’ She says, “Well, just cheat it down and tilt it down a little bit like that.’ And I cock the gun and I go, ‘Can you see that? Can you see that? Can you see that?’ And she says…and I let go of the hammer of the gun and the gun goes off. I let go of the hammer of the gun and the gun goes off."
"No, no, no, no. I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them. Never.”
But as a lame brain hollywood actor with an inflated ego and sense of importance, we expect Baldwin to have deep knowledge of and adherence to safety practices? Ah here.... if you are handed a set gun and told to act like you're shooting people, what are you going to do?
as the *producer* he had a role in how the set was ran and may have some culpability there.
Re the gun firing without pulling the trigger, I find it hard to believe we have a malfunctioning gun now as well as live rounds.
Besides, the cops will find any such defect with the gun if it's there.... he probably unconsciously pulled the trigger the whole time then just dropped the hammer and it went bang.

I'd say more than likely he never pulled the hammer back far enough to engage the sear and when she replied to him about being able to see him cock it he just released the hammer rather than easing it.
Either way when the hammer drops the gun's probably going to go BANG. And if he claims that he didn't realise that was a possibility then he's an even bigger moron than I already thought.
The bomb squad raced to a hospital A&E allegedly because a man had a WW2 anti-tank shell stuck in his rectum.

Remember those pictures of evolution with people going from all fours to walking upright and then starting to devolving back down to all fours? Yeah we're actually living that meme ... ?
Dirty sear. I've had a DA on a Remington 700. And maybe on a CZ 527....set trigger.
Seemed to be more AD's back in the day. Some makers these days have the trigger pull weight up so high companies like Timney exist because of it.
