As long as that sacrifice is spread evenly - which it will not be

A tax cut is not going to help me, I will still be paying tax - but a good rise in the threshold would

VAT a tax that was supposed to pay for the EU needs to be gone

There is so much they can do but giving poor people £150 with their benefits only benefited the tattoo parlour owners
I will suffer financially as well, as I’m not poor enough to get any government handouts to mitigate the increase in energy prices, as many will do. On top of that, my African doctor wife is totally uncomfortable when the temperature in the house is below 25 degrees, so I have to turn the heating on in July or August occasionally, while I have never ever done it before I married her ;)
Luckily, I changed my job this year and my salary is significantly higher. I told my wife that she will have to contribute to energy bills soon.

¡Puta Putin! ¡Ay!

Probably because the political and economic f-ups that led to the difficult situations happening today, are less immediately important than the need to neutralizing Russian aggression. F Russia.

I doubt a country wide referendum, no matter the country, on the subject would result in a majority saying "we must endure for the sake of Ukraine".
People will lose their jobs, their livelihood, companies and shops will close down.
In France there are already manufacturers (Duralex for instance, metal workers, etc...) who are talking about suspending their activity because of that.

F*ck Russia, sure. But so far the West is f*cking itself in order to f*ck Russia.

The one with more stamina and resources will prevail. Its like that now and was none of our making.

And now we can't back down as it will benefit Putin.

I am willing to sacrifice too.

Lets see what happens.

Meanwhile we search for replacements.

Synhelio produced kerosene on an industrial scale for the first time out of solar Energy hydrogen and CO2.

This is not primarily about Ukraine. The West is helping itself by helping Ukraine. The West is shelling out the bucks--Ukraine the blood. Preserving freedom has always been costly, destroying it is not. Russia is threatening the current world order set up by the West, and can't be put down without much sacrifice.

If Russia were to rise up again in 10-15yr, for all its riches the West doesn't have the moral or political will to survive that. The US should step up to help carry our allies through the hardships of winter and beyond.

if we talk about gas price, its now coming down, as Europe has filled its reserves, so its possible the worst is now, and that prices could come down after Christmas. A mild winter would help.

I cannot see Russia surviving this, Putin already looks like he has had enough, the chechen has resigned, whatever that means in Russia......maybe he gets to choose a window - I'll take the round one today - thats a UK only joke.......

Take that Putin!

I’m reminding you how Scholzi pressed Canada to bypass the sanctions and send the gas turbine to Russia, just to find out that Russia was not interested in using the turbine and refused to do it.
The Russians love ridiculing their useful idiots and it’s the cultural thing, as their goal is to show you that they have the power over you. It’s just Scholzi who wasn't aware of that.
