We have an additional ~40% rise coming in October, solar PV looking mighty attractive now.

Increase will add almost €600 a year to the average customer’s electricity bill and over €500 a year to their gas bill

expect to pay extra 2K per year with all the previous increases folded in.

I don't think so. Maybe Putin offers some warm appartments for those not able to stand it? [skm]

I know that the insulation is not good in Portugal (And its also not that needed like in the northern parts of the EU where we have - 10 to -20 °). But be honest the heating is always not on, even without Putin. Go into a restaurant in winter to see what I mean.

So EU gas deposits filled to 80 % I think thats about a quarter of the EUs total annual energy need.

After the energy transition the Russian state as it was known can be kicked into the dustbin of history.

No doubt the conductor will be fired and the Somali leech gets a bag of money.
I don’t really get it why Europe needs people who are famous for their parasitising nature, extremely high unemployment and an extremely low IQ.
A person whose IQ is 85 is considered disabled, while the average IQ in Somalia is 68.
I used to work with them a few years ago and observed a total negligence of health and safety procedures, inability of understanding simple tasks and a poor hygiene.

We get connected tp geothermal heating this year. Putin couldn't have given a bigger favour to the energy transition.

Munich aims to be the first city in the World to cover its energy needs totally with renewables.

Geothermal and other renewable resources are prioritised and developed since 2008.

Clip is in German but just for illustration

If everything is running so smoothly, why do the other EU countries have to reduce consumption and pay so much more for energy?

Its not running smoothly (y far not) but things like these reduce dependency. It should have been done much earlier instead of doubling down on Russian gas and oil.

Takes some years now but we have all these outside troubles and still function better than RU and CN which have all problems housemade and cheap energy.

They have nothing to offer. They will again be left behind.

Coal plants are being fired up again in Germany. Heyden 4 is connected to the grid again.

"We are just going to have to accept that."

How about no? How about f*ck off and f*ck you and the horse you rode in on?

Why should people "have to accept that"? Based on what? The bad decisions a minority of higher ups made? The incompetence of a few, who badly played their cards, will have to be shouldered by the many?

How about yes?
Because life is about making sacrifices and we have to accept it.

There are a number of UK politicians who should face a firing squad

Let's start with Tony Bliar, Gordon Clown, Ian Duncan Smith, Thérèse Coffey, George Osbourne

Vile individuals not even their mothers would miss - if they knew who their mothers are

Blood on their hands, all of them - where did all the decent politicians go

How about yes?
Because life is about making sacrifices and we have to accept it.
As long as that sacrifice is spread evenly - which it will not be

A tax cut is not going to help me, I will still be paying tax - but a good rise in the threshold would

VAT a tax that was supposed to pay for the EU needs to be gone

There is so much they can do but giving poor people £150 with their benefits only benefited the tattoo parlour owners

Probably because the political and economic f-ups that led to the difficult situations happening today, are less immediately important than the need to neutralizing Russian aggression. F Russia.
