Rhodium groups Chinese GDP assessment much closer to reality than the invented Komissbureaus 5,2 %, its only 2,4 % increase yoy.

They have very plausible explanations including "authority bias".

Signs of a very powerful economy

Fake it until you make it or not..

The fake can't be hidden anymore since the construction business crash.

Now China has lots of unused infrastructure to take care of in addition to their other problems.

But comrade Xi will properly take care of that....

Placed an order in Chiiina.
Freight $150 US
All freight out of US or EU is down to the cent. As the figure is round and clearly the pulled it out of their arse I asked if there was room for a few more units in the box..answer no.
Adjust order down from 32 to 28 units
Freight $200
Cancelled order.

Another company...they claim they have Chiina lifetime warranty. Asked for back up spare parts that are lost due to them unable to use locktite and thoughtless design. They send a bunch of two sizes of screws and non of the rest of screws, circlips and spacer washers requested. Ask for the missing parts several times never send them.
EU suppliers send everything they can think of for backup and will alter products to suit requirements.

2024 you can't copy your culture into something better apparently.

It is an open secret for China experts that Beijing is fudging its growth figures. An expert who names the fraud is now being silenced by President Xi Jinping himself. Because in Beijing this is not just lèse majesté.

What Gao Shanwen openly said in Washington before Christmas has long been known to economic researchers, financial analysts and in fact everyone who deals with China's economy. Gao, chief economist of the largest state investment holding SDIC, had traveled to the USA for a joint conference of the Peterson Institute of International Economics and a Chinese think tank. And made a kind of unintentional revelation for the People's Republic: "We don't know the true size of China's real growth figure," said Gao. "My own guess is that in the last two or three years, the real figure may have averaged around 2 percent, although the official figure is close to 5 percent."

Its totally uncontrolled one guy working often in China said once the visitors are gone the sleep matresses are taken out.

Not much thought put into design and the service mentality is zero. If you have problems you are on your own its a one way business street.

Saw copies of western machines built with differing sheet metal strenghts. They just took whatever was at hand.

So the end the the cancelled order tale ends up with a sample from Taiwan and the tolerance is high. As good as anywhere else.

China doesn't want to pay EU companies appropriately for their SEP technology patents.

Now listen to this guy

Yes yes invest in China but not too much and be ready to lose it and Europe has no technology only US and China

Invest in China until he pulled out his assets.

It will all culminate at some point.

Good that China doesn't need backwards EU tech like DUVL and aircraft engines. And many other things.

A recent encounter:

Funny also how expat Chinese lie in the West to make their country appear "normal" to us. Or whatever reason is there to lie? Do they get repercussions in China so that the are educated to "correct themselves"?

Yes yes every Chinese can use VPN. Those super obvious lies, told even though everybody in the West knows, don' understand that honestly.

And that they think we are some kind of troglodytes.

Talking about drowning in your own kool-aid.

We should do the same. Everyone proposing Chinese stuff and postulating ad nauseam "not proven that they spy but but USA" can move to China for a life lesson. Maybe they can sell stuff better to us if they are very close to the source...

I mean it was pretty common knowledge post 2014 that Cisco stuff was easily compromised by the NSA/CIA. So it's not exactly a surprise.

Of course naïve to think they wouldn't do it.

In Germany exactly this was used as an argument for Huawei that the US spies too.
