Really great article, though I believe the guns they are talking about are more or less DIY shotguns and homemade muskets, not Type 81s or anything. Though if you are a member of the Communist Party, the authorities will look away if they discover you with a rifle under your car seat.

I guess what the group I'm talking about is trying to do is to make it so that someone in Xinjiang or Bejing or Hong Kong can make his/her own firearm using common and unregulated parts.

I'm all for that.

Yeah my point was that the west has surpassed the authoritarian state in gun control, so no point in looking at them and just focus on what is happening in our backyards. If not for home made firearms, the Muslims in my country would probably be in the forms of Rohingya people. Our muslim struggle here was never about religion but more of rights and ancestral lands, if not for their guns and starting their own army, they would have been wiped out already. It is a clear picture where weapons and the ability to make them actually did push our government for a better understanding.

This is why you actually see the Philippine government get harsh followed by amnesty and allowing them some freedoms rather than outright taking them on. Which was successful in terms of the Muslim got control of their lives and lands while the government was able to pacify them. At its height the standing army of the Muslim seccessionist was bigger then the Armed Forces, down to a couple of thousands.

New Jersey – -(AmmoLand.com)- Overturning both a County Superior Court and an Appellate Division decision, the law firm of Evan F. Nappen, Attorney at Law successfully petitioned the NJ Supreme Court for a unanimous Opinion released today mandating that people must be provided with hearings whenever a court contemplates denying a handgun carry permit and that such hearings must be held within 30 days.

If I’m correct, It’s a win for due process.

If a police chief denies your carry permit you have the ability to have a hearing with them as to why, and also provide any information that might change the PD’s mind for denial.

When you’re denied by a Judge, there is no provision for a hearing - they tell you pound sand and no permit. This opinion clarified that the NJ courts also have to allow for a hearing where the court could reverse its denial.

If I also understand, when the Supreme Court rules in favor of the NY case and gives guidance that strict scrutiny should be applied, those denying permits will have nowhere to legally “hide”. Denied permits that meet the criteria as written must be approved.

Seems like if you can get your chief to approve, then the baseline assumption may now be that you should get a permit. Could be a game changer.

Well, no. The chief can approve it but the judge can deny it for any reason.

This opinion seems to make it clear that the judge / court now has to also provide the applicant a forum to present why his denial occurred and allow the applicant to provide information to change the courts decision.

What it really is - the first creak in the door. If a chief approves an applicant, and the judge denies it - the judge now has to explain his rationale.

Unlike today, when strict scrutiny is in play, the court would be hog tied and can’t enforce its political or anti-2A agenda.

SO WHY ARE THE GOVERNMENT TARGETING LAW ABIDING LFOs with their Arms Legislation Bill when it is so obvious that people like this man are the sort of people that are the problem with firearms in our society.

The local Police are to be congratulated for catching this career criminal, but shouldn’t their focus be on known criminal gangs rather than tying up staff in administering registers and inspecting ranges and clubs?

With various gang related shooting incidents in Hawkes Bay, the Police Ministers’ own electorate, Stuart Nash must be feeling a sense of failure of his firearms policies.

In Virginia, 7 Gun bills were passed through the state legislature. These are allow individual counties to ban firearms how they wish, establish red flag laws, one gun a month only, and such. The semi-auto ban, age 21 only sale, and NRA range ban bills have not been voted on nor do they appear on the docket.

However, looks like militias are starting to organize now.

Pretty much, even if they have success banning pistols or AR-15s, they’ll go after ammunition, gun ranges, storage requirements, etc. Hell, there’s a bill purposed in New York where you have to have a mental examination for every gun you buy; thankfully, the author is an unstable nut job who tells his political opponents to go kill themselves and he is a massive pariah. Everything being said, the gun grabbers have moved from UBCs to AR-15 bans to bans on all semi-autos.

A proposed ban didn’t get the 766,200 signatures needed to be placed on the ballot.

Supporters say they are now focusing on getting the question before voters in 2022. The group pushing the petition — Ban Assault Weapons Now — collected 145,000 verified signatures this past year. The deadline to meet the signature requirement for this year’s election was Feb. 1.

Somewhere, in Delaware, An Alzheimers Memory Care Unit is missing an elderly white male named Joe....I don't think the Founders were terribly concerned that forest animals were going to try and strip us of our freedoms.
