Why should the aggressor participate in Europes security architecture? That makes absolute no sense. She hasn't learned anything. Really resistant to learning.
"Den Bock zum Gärtner machen" (Appointing the ram as gardener) I would say.
Russia was never threatened as is nicely demonstrated by the complete openening of Russias northern flank.
And how should that involvement look like? Russia patronizing on eastern European countries with the Wests blessings?
Yes that was Putins wet dream.
The threat to Europes security IS RUSSIA. And the threat is not invited. It has to deal with it.
Germany's most strategically important building site is at the end of a windswept pier on the North Sea coast, where workers are assembling the country's first terminal for the import of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
This is bs campaign that PiS uses for parliamentary elections next year. I don't think that anyone sane actually wants any money from Germany, it's been almost 80 years. Opposition is calling their bluff on this and no one except for 3 MP's voted against this. Why vote for this? Well if PiS fails on delivering their promises of reparations from Germoney then it shows their weakness, if they'll deliver it than you don't want to be the guy voting against it.
The reality is PiS is bleeding our budget dry and it needs to do whatever it can to divert attention from it. For years we were told that "temporarily" increase of VAT from 22% to 23% will be rolled back by PiS government. What happened now? They passed a bill that will not allow VAT to be reduced when budget spending on defense is over 3%. How they keep it above 2 or even 3%? Count advances toward future purchases as an actual spending. That way you will not see the actual hardware for YEARS but they'll already count some of the money as spent on defense. Meanwhile our inflation rate is one of the highest in EU, prices for electricity are going up, same with natural gas, heat, etc. Whatever increase in wages we see is immediately eaten away by inflation. Meanwhile smaller towns are organizing social spaces where people can come in to get warm because some of them will not be able to afford to heat their houses. This is in a country which is one the biggest producers of coal in Europe.

Two top European Union officials on Tuesday called for joint borrowing to help the 27-nation bloc navigate the energy crunch together, after Germany faced criticism for going its own way with huge subsidies its peers could never afford.
