The Kraut is phoning in…

The governments of the Federal Republic of Germany and the German lands today decided to enact legislation and prohibitions the likes of which this country has not known since its return to democracy.
So......again..... is it supposed to last 1000 years like the last tryout ? ? ;)

Now seriously, German gov always try to go with silk gloves regarding people liberties, because of a moustache dude from last century. When I see german gov going this path, it gives me the chills...

Sh¡t is gettin too real, too fast.
Its totally out of control in Spain, Germany, USA...

Hope your family stays safe. Stay strong mate

So, I dont follow this thread closely but what's your guys take on the odd "50-70% of the population of NY, Madrid and Germany will get the virus" as we read on various MSM? This is either terribly worrying or grossly exaggerated as it would mean, according to the Covid-19 mortality rate that millions would die.

I take this disease seriously but I'm having a hard time believing these figures...
Given how the virus circulates the figures seem legit.
Unless total global shutdown, between 40 to 60% (some figures go to 80%) of the global population are expected to get it in the coming 12 months.
And yes with 50% (3.7 billions) and 3% mortality this would make theorically 120 millions of death (less in developped countries thanks to health care and adymptomatic cases, more in low income and already high HIV/tuberculosis countries)

I’ve just read a Polish article and the maximum penalty for breaking the new regulations in Germany is €25,000.
How to discipline das Volk?
Employ retired Stasi officers back. They would take revenge on you for making them irrelevant. They would know how to enforce the regulations and they would do it with a sense of pride.

You do realise that in industrialised nations roughly 60% of the population matches at least one risk-group category?

I am still curious, does 60% mean that mortality rate won't decrease?

Any way to prevent/reduce the amount of virally induced lung fibrosis?

In other words, is it better to continue to diagnose as many as possible and somehow prophylactically reduce the fibrosis risk?

I figure we're pretty much all going to acquire this (at least would show positive on a widely distributed and fairly accurate screening test) , but that many people would otherwise will not show signs or have a reason to forward for testing.

So, how to stop what sounds like the biggest single long-term issue (so far) with acquiring and then recovering from Covid-19 if you are otherwise healthy?

Philippines is going all out and just one tick shy of a Martial Law... only thing stopping that is the past ML with Marcos. (that memory is hampering efforts)

As for me this is the 8th day of the lockdown and I live alone. At first I was kicking my ass for renting a penthouse as it would be a big drain in my funds and I could have used it in far better things... so i thought. i now realize having a big old patio to do gardening and enjoy the sun does wonders to keep your sanity.

Oh and im getting good in Modern Warfare in PS4 too

It would appear that the spread in Russia since beginning of March was caused by a renown Stavropol chief infectious-disease expert.
Irina Sannikova was the first to test positive in the region after she failed to disclose ( or allegedly hid ) her vaccation in Spain, and follow initiated quarantine procedures. The case seems to coincide with the timeline and sudden increase of infected.

Dr. Sannikova faces jail as she is accused to have infecting a number of people by continuing to appear in public, hold lectures, participate in conferences and other events, that were attended by hundreds.

A similar recent case of base negligance in Georgia caused the complete lockdown of two municipalities and deployment of the military. The person in question appears to have been in contact with dozens of other people. Details remain unclear.

I went shopping today too and it looked like war rationing during WW2 my dad told me about. I wondered if this is a evaluation exercise to determine if nation is ready for another major conflict and the pandemic is just a excuse.

Pasta, rice, flour, sugar, eggs and frozen goods seem to be the first things to go.

Russia. 23 march.
438 total cases (71 new, all of them in Moscow), 1 dead (no changes), 17 cured (1 new).

Moscow authorities today imposed obligatory self-isolation for older people (65+). Some measures to support them were announced.

Also announced that in Moscow mobile phone providers will track phones of positive tested persons and send SMS to any phones that was close enough to infected person. May be a good idea, but not that easy to implement as it seems.
