Politics The COVID-19 pandemic news and discussion.

Driving back from work today, I was shocked by the number of elderly cutting about. Large chunks of my workforce put on 6 hours NTM to help the civil powers.

That’s it, we are in lockdown for 3 weeks.

no gathering over 2 people, only food shops and chemists open.

we can go to work, if really necessary.....

In the UK, its getting serious, as Greggs the bakers, and McDonalds are closing today.

Boris will address us this evening, generally expected to be closure of all shops etc, except food and medicine.
But what about the sausage rolls?!! ?

Oh?

Of course. And if Hillary had been President instead of FDR the United States would have been totally prepared for WW II.

Boris has finally announced stricter measures to protect his people, seems like Italy was roughly two weeks ahead of France, epidemic/pandemic wise and the UK was one week late to France as well.

Be safe out there, the only « good » news from Italy is the daily death toll is down to ~650 from 800 in 24 hours in a couple of days. Nothing yet to rejoice much. Also, Spain is hit severely too.

After the Polish border is shut, Germany loses 25% of its HGV transportation capability and the country is phucked.
Die Mutti asks the Polish government for help, as supermarkets are running out of stock. The only alternatives are using the Bundeswehr and the Luftwaffe.
In German:

Fegelein! Fegelein!! Fegelein!!! ;)

You go buy a BMW as often as you get some KFC? You fcukin rich notworthy;

That's the tragedy here . That someone goes out and buys a car beyond their reach , they default but the money has already been created so must be honoured somehow . You can't undo money .

^----- Jerman car? You might be able to buy one, but can you afford to maintain one? ;-)

Work today was rather slow for me However, lots of people (John Q. Public) not happy with being refused ability to visit patients/relatives/friends already in hospital. Luckily, I'm not working in that part of the hospital.

Oh yeah. I've just had a lot of fun on my company's team WhatsApp channel. Boris announced that people should stay home, so my team members started posting videos with his announcement and saying that they are not coming to work tomorrow. The team leader, though, responded that we are coming, as we are classified as key workers who are able to travel to work. My colleagues started taking a TOTAL piss out of the company, saying that Boris is our boss and I was the only member who defended the team leader. I said she was saying what she was required to say and it was not her private opinion.

Well, my job was cut today, by 50%. I'll only be working nightshifts from now on.
Fortunately, the government will cover the rest, or up to 90%. I'll probably lose about $300 in income.
Fu*k COVID-19 and the Chinese government.
