Clashes between police and demonstrators continued on the streets of Athens on Tuesday after a Greek court ruled that the far-right Golden Dawn party was operating as a criminal organisation, delivering a landmark guilty verdict in a marathon five-year trial. Police had earlier used water cannon and teargas to disperse an anti-fascist rally attended by more than 15,000 people outside court Golden Dawn leader and ex-MPs found guilty in landmark trial

Telcom operators Orange and Proximus replace Huawei in their networks in Belgium with Nokia and Ericsson which also should provide the new 5G nets

Meanwhile in Germany master mind Merkel tries to bend over to China as far as possible and retreats to her usual non commital attitude

But at least the parliament should have the last say and not only that naive tech check by some authorities body which will effectively exclude Huawei

Germany crackdown set to exclude Huawei from 5G rollout

This is all just logic after all which western Company can participate in Chinas network? Politicians and entrepreneurs still aiding this Regime by accepting non reciprocal and totally one sided ventures with China should be punished under a law of aiding foreign hostile powers imho.

The whining of Chinas CCP and Huawei are just hypocrisy. There is no fair trade with all this state steered companies and strategical financial aid and espionage to drive the concurrence into insolvence.

You can judge just how important Huawei is to China's intelligence networks by how loudly they've shrieked over their equipment being banned.

When Trump banned it in the US it was as if he'd wiped his ass on the Chinese Flag, said Xi looked like Winnie the Pooh on crack and that the Chinese Communist Party had spent all of WW2 hiding from the Japanese except when selling them opium.

When Trump threatened to ban Tik-Tok you got a little pro-forma theatre and nothing else.

Quite clearly Huawei is strategic to them.

Of course just "some" politicians can´t/want see it. The reason why I think they should be prosecuted for treason. It is akin to having the Soviet Union install your telephone net during the cold war. You can´t install theirs but they want to install yours, come on

EU run out of money again

Has Apple paid a penny yet - no

Will Amazon pay a penny - no

EU zero - Apple/Amazon 2

The French want to remove the kebab from the Mediterranean.
They are going to increase the number of ships to confront the sultan.
The battle group will consist of three ships:
- La Fayette
- Latouche-Treville
- Forbin

It will be supported by an E3-F operating from Crete.

Apple started to pay the fine 2 years ago with a first installment of 1.2 bill. €. And if you think the fine was unfair, Apple paid only 0,5% in taxes instead of 12,5%. The EU is working on legislations to make big corporations pay taxes according to the revenue in each country.

Macron and Kurz Flex Antiterror Muscles for Domestic Audience

PARIS — President Emmanuel Macron of France and Chancellor Sebastian Kurz of Austria stood side by side Tuesday to talk terrorism at the Élysée Palace, but the moment was as much about domestic politics for each leader as about terrorist threats.

An interesting thing is how they will manage the "Schengen Area" without once and for all introducing a tight external border regime and start to act against the obvious asylum misuse.

It reminds me of the saying "dumb is he who repeats always the same action but hopes for a different outcome".

The NYT complains about Macron calling out American media for inciting hatred, excusing terrorism and calling everyone who disagrees with open borders and sharia law a racist.

Republicans calling you fake news, European centrists calling you fake news, people in the Middle East calling you fake news. Maybe it's not them, it's you?

The Dutch Socialist Party has expelled several radical communist members after they published a marxist manifesto demanding a load of anti-democratic measures and proposing a civil war. There are loads of things in there that were considered retarded even back in 1917, but I'll just leave the biggest nugget of gold here:

-The army and police are bad mkay. Instead an organized standing citizen militia needs to be created that is controlled by a central authority. Actually the army and police aren't bad as long as they do exactly as this central authority orders them to.-

Organized standing formations of armed troops that answer to a central authority. It's like this idea sounds strangely familiar ?

French President Emmanuel Macron has asked Muslim leaders to accept a "charter of republican values" as part of a broad clampdown on radical Islam.

On Wednesday he gave the French Council of the Muslim Faith (CFCM) a 15-day ultimatum to accept the charter.
The CFCM has agreed to create a National Council of Imams, which will reportedly issue imams with official accreditation which could be withdrawn.

It follows three suspected Islamist attacks in little more than a month.
The charter will state that Islam is a religion and not a political movement, while also prohibiting "foreign interference" in Muslim groups.

Just a load of French babble for doing nothing - just hang out the white flag now - Micron is done

So Merkel played again the fifth column, succesfully demonstrated by bowing down to the CCP threats of retaliating to the German industry. The planned rigorous laws effectively shutting out Chinese telcom suppliers from the German 5G net, were amended to an idotic procedure which makes sure that no one can be shut out. It will be ratified in the Bundestag next month.

Than babbling about EU coherence and speak with one voice. Like this the CCP has an easy game over here.

Why doesn´t she ask Xi if Siemens can install some telcom Hardware Network in China?

How it works internally putting up shortsighted business interests upfront regarding CCP politics in Germany :

Exclusive: Top German official hushed up report on China’s influence

A high-ranking German official suppressed a sensitive intelligence report in 2018 on China’s growing influence in Germany out of fear it would damage business ties with China, Axios has learned.

Why it matters: Business interests have long shaped Germany’s relationship with China, to the detriment of human rights concerns and even national security.

Details: The highly sensitive report, completed in 2018, examined the Chinese government’s attempts to influence every level of German government, society and business, according to two former U.S. intelligence officials.

Washington shouldn’t expect—and may not need—a coordinated policy with Berlin.

Merkel’s China Reset Is Mostly Hollow

German Chancellor Angela Merkel is enjoying praise for her cabinet’s recent volte-face on China, including a de facto ban of Huawei, a fresh strategy for the Indo-Pacific, and a newfound willingness to call out Beijing’s human rights abuses. Germany’s apparent shift is welcome news in Washington, which has subjected Merkel to extraordinary pressure on ties with Beijing. But Germany’s dependence on China goes far deeper than its recent efforts can address, and there are reasons to doubt the sincerity of its supposed reset.
