I wonder what the law says about gross negligence in the handling of official government documents by government employees, especially election records. It would be interesting to watch the Maricopa election officials' reaction as the charges were announced, if anyone actual had the spine to follow the rule of law.

I have one simple question. Let's assume that someone actually manages to conduct a clean audit (unlikely at this point) and finds corruption that invalidates some races, including national races. What happens at that point? I can't see the perpetrators saying "Oops, sorry. We're leaving now." Let me be clear. I'm not saying that we shouldn't do the audits. We definitely should but we have to be prepared for some very unclean outcomes if a legitimate audit is conducted and significant fraud is found. At minimum, we will have an undisputedly fraudulent government in place with its only power coming from the threat of force.

Human error due to a lack of training that eventually lead to an unfortunate and permanent loss of critical data.

The results of the audits will be contested either way.

That appears to be the route that they're taking, but it will just lead to further erosion of confidence in the system.

Oh the confidence in the electoral system is eroded alright.

I wouldn't be surprised if turnout takes a very steep dive. But hopefully it does not happen.

I have several friends who have voted regularly (i.e. every election in the last 30+ years) who say that they'll never vote again due to it being useless because of the fraud. It's very hard to dispute their assertions.

So do I... maybe try to explain to them that if by chance they are wrong about their assertions, they are handing victory to the opposing side...

well, lets say the Maricopa county audit comes up with results contrary to the official results... that may trigger similar audits in other states, it may make it easier for some of those who dont currently want to put themselves at risk, to support the process further...
it may also serve to bring some others forward in order to protect themselves if they feel that it may start to get a little hot...
its not hard to envision a snowball effect if one audit shows improprieties on a level sufficient enough to change the results.
not sure what would happen, if the audits continued, and continued to show the same fraudulent results. I would hope that the military would step in at some point.
this is all conjecture, I tend to think it was 80 million dummies plus Trump that lost the election... I do want to see forensic audits take place, and I dont understand the opposition to them... Its not on the taxpayers dime, so why not? After all it was the safest, most secure election ever, anywhere...

its bullshite... they HAVE to comply. the idea that the passwords necessary to complete a proper forensic audit would somehow damage their intellectual property is a load of shite.
