Police wrongly identify black business owners as looters
A video has gone viral of chaotic scenes in Los Angeles of police officers wrongly identifying black businesses owners as looters.

A reporter from Fox 11 Los Angeles points police to a group of alleged looters in the Van Nuys neighbourhood.

But some of the officers wrongly identify the people attempting to shield the businesses as the looters. They point weapons at the group and start putting them in handcuffs.

The group was later released, Fox 11 reported.

What is sad iof you see the whole episode, they defended the stores and there were armed white guys defending it with them. These black guys hailed the cops, the cops handcuffed them but not the armed white guys.

Woke up this morning to see the President had talked about sending in the military (rather than the National Guard) which I didn't think was legal due to the Posse Comitatus act, though it seems that the Insurrection Act of 1807 can override that and was actually invoked in the LA Riots in 1992 (Something else I hadn't known - I thought that was solely the California National Guard).

For the "cop pointing his anti-riot gun toward the father and his kid", it is a play on optical perspective.

As for those who got hit by rubber bullets: people know it is dangerous to go outside, they know there are riots, they know the national guard has been deployed, they know the police has been deployed, they know there are strick rules to enforce the law that have been implemented.

Sorry, but this bullshit propaganda tactic - stripping a seemingly controversial image from any factual context and adding your own - does nothing but insulting the intelligence. Any of this images can have thousands different alternative interpretations. In the last image, for example, it's pretty clear to me they are accounting for the stolen goods with the perp sitting cuffed in the background. Pics with no context @AND are gratuitous and provide 0 information. I understand that after the support of the Ukrainian protesters that some are more than happy to show that police violence can happen in the USA as well, but let' s not forget that that violence is only made possible by the USA tolerating much more civil disobedience from the start. In Russia, China, Ukraine now and then, citizens can' t do ten percent of what is being done by some protesters in the states.

That being said, the pic with the police officer and the LBD gun across the man and the little girl on his shoulders is dispicable, there is noone to threaten here. I watched the Houston police chief on CNN and I don' t know how he is containing the situation in his city, but he seems to have his guys under a little more control. That does not mean that I approve of that moron going to protests that have the habit of going violent with a little girl. She should be at home watching cartoons.
