Police in Bolivia’s main city, La Paz, have declared themselves in mutiny, joining anti-government protests and fellow officers in at least six other cities. The move puts in serious doubt the president Evo Morales’ ability to hang on to power after weeks of unrest over disputed election results.

Bolivia military says won't 'confront' the people as pressure on Morales builds ?

He’s been a President for quite a bit, I remember his election inspired hope for the Native (Indian) Bolivian community as he was the first ever to reach the presidency.

Various claims of electoral fraud, apparently proved true so good riddance... what comes next though?

So much so for socialism in Latin America . a final nail on the coffin of El che .

It was time to such a crook left the power of that Country. For the good people of Bolivia. May be the beggining, the downfall and the domino effect for the leftist goverments in Latin America. next to fall Ortega in Nicaragua and Maduro in Venezuela. But honestly I really worried about the actual situation in Chile, Peru, Ecuador and now Colombia who is facing a national strike on the 21st of this month.

Which shows that it is not a matter of left or right but a matter of middle class getting poorer and unbalance in the distribution of wealth.
Be it left or right, South American govs are corrupt oligarchies gorging themselves while average José are struggling more and more.

Morales turned into a despot.

I do think that a lot of unrest is also created by a high plateau pretty arid and poor, and a south benefitting from energy ressources and the hills of the amazon jungle.

Bolivia was and remains a basket of problems...landlocked, high altitude...noone has it worse in South America.

Oh, yes left, left left
Which of course explains the social tensions in right led countries like Chile or Colombia
May be an update of software is needed ?

Jeanine Anez is now President of Bolivia, arguing that Bolivia could not wait and be left in a power vacuum.

The collapse of Morales was followed by resignations from his allies and left vacancies in most governmental posts. She won the post of senate leader after Movement for Socialism party boycotted the vote, which made her the highest-ranking official in line of succession.

edit: nevermind probably fake

Ok, still think that like with Venezuele it is again plague or cholera; from a corrupt leftleaning government to a neoliberal dystopia

"Bolivia should be without indigenous satanic rituals and the cities should be free of Indians - let them live in the highlands" /rough translation
Ok, from a corrupt leftleaning government to a racist neoliberal dystopia

Can you provide a direct link? I'm asking cuz it's not hard to make stuff like this:

Yeah you're probably right, I searched on twitter, but no original shows up. It could be original, and have been deleted later, however most of these have only popped up in the last 24 hours or so. Blasted online trolling

Well Chile and Colombia are democracies. Chile had left leaning and right leaning governments. So has Colombia

As for the events in Chile, there are upsets, but we are talking about the country with the highest life expectancy in South America, as well as the huighest number of hospital beds per inhabitant.

Yet people (in both countries) are fed up with the expensiveness of life, low wages, lack of social ladder and unbalance in wealth distribution. Chile is one of the most unequal country in south america in regard to wealth distribution, thanks to the Chicago boys experiment.
It always take a drop when people are at the limit before poverty.
A lot of people in Chile are in this case.
