Politics The COVID-19 pandemic news and discussion.

Ja, Redav! They can stick that needle somewhere else. I'm done with this crazy train after the initial two jabs. Anything further, would have to have a really good reason for me to accept it.

C'm'on guys! We just didn't know!

Nevermind all those who warned us, and who we subsequently labeled "whiny conspiracy theorists".

In the summer it was the heat
In the winter it's the cold

I'm not really sure of your point, unless you are thick, but it's well known that cold weather has an affect on heart conditions....

Interesting. I have never, ever, heard any common, everyday talk amongst people here in the USA about staying out of the cold to protect one’s heart.

Thousands of people die every year in Siberia and Scandinavia from heart attack

Funny that only became an issue this winter

Must be some kind of coincidence

Doesn't say stay out of the cold, it highlights a potential risk in cold weather that people with heart conditions may want to be aware of, by highlighting a risk then people can decide what to do.

Again,

I cannot recall anything in all my years here in the USA that specifically called out cold weather as being a worry for patients with heart issues. Other than, "be careful shoveling snow off the sidewalk, you might get a heart attack. especially if you are older..."

Perhaps it's like everything else these days being called out to be worried about... I'd like to NOT believe it is because of something else, some conspiracy, some side effect of something else.

Oh, i just thought of something else that did get called out several times. Cold air hitting the lungs of people with lung conditions.., maybe regarding ashma ?

Did you read the BHF link mate? Nothing alarmist in it. Simply states that the heart has to work harder in cold weather and people with heart conditions may wish to take some sensible precautions. Or not if they so wish.

This is nothing like covid hysteria and IMHO is being used as a false example of hysteria to paint a narrative.

Thanks, Downsizer. you are wise to call me out, as I was coming across like I hadn’t.

I actually did read it. I thought it was very good information and actually enjoyed reading it. It did not come across preachy or with an agenda.

I‘m barking up a different tree…. Your contribution is good.
