I'm not a Harry Potter fan, but this is why Hogwarts legacy is the only open world game I bought recently. Compared with most of the dogshit that came out in the past few years, it have decent RPG experience with characters which are not flat out boring or unlikable.

No PC yet and really wanted to play Starfield so I looked around my PS4 and found No Man's Sky... I'm not sure how close it is to starfield but it really is immersive and I do like it a lot.

They are quite different beasts from each other. Starfield leans heavily on the RPG tropes while NMS is much more open universe. And of course NMS is multiplayer while Starfield is very definitely single player.

If you want something along the lines of NMS but less cartoony, try Star Citizen - they regularly have "free fly" events so you can test drive it without putting even $1.00 down.

Would definitely give that a try once i get around to building my PC, for now NMS will have to do. Got my first capital ship... Kinda looks familiar

7 years late, but Squadron 42 is finally feature complete. And makes Starfield look like it was done with playdough and cardboard.

Still got some final polish and optimization to be done, but the odds of a late 2024 release just went up substantially.

I like Battlefield 2042. However I hate the way they made the they/them female powah puff strong character to be OP, forcing many to play her. And many who do, also happen to play rather obtuse and selfish.

Some good news

I was going to get CoD MW3 until I had realized that there's no co op and barely a campaign if one were even able to call it that.

MW3 has been getting VERY poor reviews all over - even from the usual suspects who get paid to give every AAA game a 9 or a 10.

My take on the lack of modern games with co op's and why some are hard on the uptake as to why co op is desirable to some, and should be self explanatory on why older games are still being played to infinity:

Some people actually have a life outside gaming and some actually have friends and family who want to either play with while visiting or with when far from home. I know, an unfathomable line of thought deduction that some folk have friends and likeminded family into the very same things as them.

Playing cooperatively with other people is one of the big draws for me to Star Citizen. Whether it's salvaging dead ships or raiding dangerous underground bunkers or crewing a ship's turrets to go bounty hunting, more people = more fun for me.

2025 🥲

2025?!??!? That's ages away! Dammit.

I'm not surprised. GTA V is still popular, especially online. Why hurry to replace a cow that still give you milk.

RIP. Microtransactions has ruined the industry, instead of making new games all AAA studios are focused on stupid skins and other worthless crap to sell.

Almost time to buy a new PC 😁

Almost time to buy a new PC 😁

I'm running Star Citizen on an i7-9700, 32GB of RAM and a 3060 and it copes - more or less. There has to be a LOT of room for optimisation there.

Some of the types of BF2042 players is going to be the reason I snap one day, I'm almost sure of this.
