Police have apologized to a Rotorua man after sending him a firearms license warning three days after pulling him over for speeding. Malcolm Pearce was on his way to work at his flooring store about 7.30am on a Saturday about a month ago when he was pulled over. The 65-year-old was driving at 71km/h along a stretch of Fairy Springs Rd limited to 60km/h. He had come from the 80km/h stretch.

The bill passing the House was pretty much to be expected, especially considering the Dems' control over it.

The Senate however is a whole different thing. Filibuster is still there.

Interestingly enough, though two Reps voted in favor (Chris Jacbo NY, Brian Fitzpatrick PA), some Dems voted against. Which further hints toward a DOA at the Senate.
