^------Yep. I noticed that too in Facebook. One of the persons said that I should unfriend them if I don't type AGREE. Instead, I've been unfriending or 30-day-snoozing everybody who throws me a blank/black picture today. Kind of fun. I don't need their drama right now anyway. Basically, one gal said "if you don't believe Black Lives Matter, then unfriend me".

I hate to unfriend, but I've been blocking people lately.

The girl is closer to the cameraman tan the national guard is, ergo, he is not pointing the gun at her, its again optical effect. You can easily see that by the fact that her phone obstructs the line from the camera to the hand holding the shotgun. Nobody would allow anyone coming that close while pointing a gun at them.

Exactly. AND had better up his disinformation game before his handlers disappear him.

I am on the fence too about that.
As a non US citizen i am wondering this too. It could have been me with a knee on my back for seven minutes, would it have made the news that night ?
How is racism proven in a court of law ? except an obvious KKK killing or something like that.
Racism isn't illegal. All kinds of push to develop "hate crime" laws but when the intent is one sided, it's hard to make it work. Hate crimes would be what ANTIFA would be guilty of as well as black lives matter. Sort of back fired on the left. I'm allowed to be racist. I just can't use race as a motivation to prevent people from getting jobs, education, housing, voting, etc. Race can't be the reason for giving or preventing rights afforded all citizens. Race motivated crime can hold additional or more severe charges in many jurisdictions. Keep in mind each state has their own laws. Some states have laws that address racism, some don't. (also, I'm not racist or bigoted. I have an unhealthy hyper-loathing for people who are.)

Keep in mind, there are varied degrees of "racism" in the US. Most people are actually "bigots", meaning there is usually more of a cultural or even an appearance bias in their view of people. It has more to do with a difference in cultural outlook and opinions. No one actually believes that one race is inferior or superior to the other. For instance a person may not like the way Mexicans act. No real hatred, just some ignorance and cultural friction for any number of reasons. Latin and or Hispanic people all look alike to that person, so they don't have the ability or motivation to see past their bigotry. Not all latin's act alike, speak Spanish alike, or really look alike. Same can be said about all races of people. This jack ass of a cop likely had some degree of bigotry in his outlook of people. It may have been a driving factor of his actions, or maybe not. It is more likely he had history with this Floyd. Maybe Floyd just really pushed his buttons. Maybe the officer's training sucked.

I can tell you that in custody deaths happen. Officer involved shootings happen. They don't happen more to any one race than the other. Maybe white subjects get shot more. No matter the circumstance, black subjects are making the news and media. Overwhelmingly, most of those circumstances are proven justified by law. Almost as overwhelmingly, black subjects or their surviving family are winning civil cases even though criminal cases exonerate the police officers involved.

The story in Georgia where those good old boys chased a black guy in a pick up truck with rifles did' nt help. Especially with the local police covering it mostly up. That got the Black community in the USA pumping these last weeks.

What I deeply feel sorry about is everyone playing the race card. I won' t play an angel here, I' m a little racist myself...just because of statistics...Yet I' m tired of Whites looking for Blacks who do wrong things, and Blacks trying to find a white person being racist..

Everyone at the beginning is simply a person and deserves his chance of being judged and treated fairly and humanly.

Spotted this video. That's from last year. For me it illustrates a lot of wrong: black guy is black and the white police officers are looking for a black dude. Apparently, the Black person who did nothing wrong plays with them and does' nt cooperate.

The vid says the guy' s FBI, he' s not after that vid was fact checked. He' s a medic. Yet he acted more like a black dude from the hood than a medic, and those police officers did not treat the person as they would have had a white guy with a suit and tie.

I get you. Don't over analyze your "racism". It's likely you just are victim to the generalizations that we all have of each other. "Asians are good at math, white people can't dance, black people this, latin people that.
One thing to consider here... Cops only have the information that is given to us. Someone reports being robbed. They are a bit racist themselves, they only remember a black guy in high tops and a hoodie with some sports team on it. In contrast, if it was a white guy, the witness would have noted hair color, height, build, age, facial hair, etc. Cops now are looking for some random black guy in high tops and a hoodie. Guy fitting the description in the area looks super nervous and tries to leave the area as soon as he spots the cops. Cops are profiling? What if the only description you get is of the get away car? It's a silver Camry. If cops stop a one of the dozens of silver Camry's they see near the stop is it profiling?

Now Google.de's going: 'We support the equal treatment of all human beings", black ribbon and all. Sod off, you corporate hacks!

Also, considering how the protests in the US are already cartoonish exaggerations of an appropriate response it just beggars belief that Londoners, Amsterdamers and Berliners think they need to chime in as well now. How strong have those virtue-signalling urges become that people thousands of miles away feel a need to "take a stand" over something that occured in fricking Minneapolis?

As shocked as I am by his fate and as much as I hope the man who took his life will be punished – George Floyd is no Jamal Khashoggi. This wasn't a hit job and there's no reason to fear those responsible will evade justice.

Well, except the police brass up the line who've been tolerating that guy's behavior.... Maybe the MPD chief, maybe the mayor.... Nahhhhhh

in media my country, mobs is peaceful and not violent!?

This is what I mean. I’ve driven through all of those places. Know a few of the cops on those depts. I have the same opinion of Lancaster PD. I’ve had contact with them in my jurisdiction. They received tickets. I know all of Lancaster PD are assholes but, like you I let a contact with a few of them taint my image of the agency.
I’ve never received a ticket from AZ Highway patrol either. If either of us did get a ticket would that make them shitty cops? I’m Hispanic looking and have a nice truck and have driven it out of state. Still no stops.
Sounds like you assume the worst. Sometimes random is random. Racial Profiling is universally known amongst all cops as bad cop work. Meaning it sucks as a tool. Extreme situations might pan out but not likely. For example, if you saw 4 Hispanic males driving through a predominantly black hood known to be run by one of the blood gangs. Are you a good cop by not assuming that hispanic males are up to no good? Or, am I a good cop for making a petty traffic stop and shaking them down for weapons? If I make the stop I basically profiled them by race and if I'm right, just initiated a high risk stop with 4 armed gangbangers. If I do the right thing and don't make assumptions based on race, do just other gang members get killed? Shouldn't I protect them too? Don't twist your brain on this. This is an isolated scenario in isolated areas. Just like the horrible incident in MN. One of the joys of my job is kind of weird. I used to love to stop and help stranded motorists. MA, Motorist Assist call in my agency. It's weird because most cops loath that stop. It's not real cop work. It's what AAA is for. I don't care. I get to go help someone for a change. Make them feel safe. It's a breath of light compared to calls for service or traffic stops. Less negative. People are happy to see you when they are stranded. I lost a fellow Troop just recently to this. He stopped to check on a stranded motorist. Called out the MA and was shot as he exited his patrol car. He was stripped of his uniform and left in the desert like a dead animal. The shooter took his car and left. It was an isolated incident, just like the one in MN. Yet, like you, my outlook has changed. Not by social media that has curated nothing but negative images and content about evil, crazy, white men laying in ambush disguised as stranded motorists. One incident, and I can't stop out with a driver with a flat tire and not be on edge. So I know how powerful police contact can be to both sides of any contact. The difference is that there is no coverage of me buying some single mother a car seat instead of giving her a ticket she can't afford. No one wants to watch me change a tire, or buy cheeseburgers for the homeless guy that I have to tell he can't panhandle here any more. Live PD doesn't air the times I ask them to leave my scene because the accident victim's family hasn't been notified yet. It's not good TV. No one films the time they were driving like a jack ass but got off with a warning. That's the nature of police work. Your outside look at the state of policing is just the curated view that you were intended to see. It affects your view of your own police contact just like losing a brother does to me. If the expectation of a positive contact with a cop is the goal.. I'm not sure you understand the premise of policing. Citizens create laws, hire cops, expect cops to enforce laws, on the same citizens. Peace officer doesn't mean we patrol around and put out good vibes.

I do want to thank you for sharing your view however. I know my own view is biased because I'm a cop. Just know that the view you expressed has been manipulated as well. Also, if I come across as frustrated, I apologize. The sheer betrayal right now is pretty raw. I've never expected any accolades but the complete dismissal of the sacrifice involved and being generalized is heart breaking.

I'm sorry, this was meant as another reply for junglejim
Appreciate the response and explanations and agree that my view has been manipulated somewhat and you are right there are more good PDs than bad. Just to clarify I have no specific hate on any PD and hell if I stayed in the US I would have wanted to be a policeman too. I am just showing the other end that yes the cops in the US has this intimidating factor coupled with a higher press coverage on brutality by some then it becomes the image. Kinda like Racial profiling in some PDs but on the otherside, people end up avoiding the cops than feeling comfortable that they are around... not all but some.

Your fight is an uphill battle man as the PDs in the US are decentralized.

Added, I just saw this article today and it seems to dell into our convo about police brutality and demeanor, thoughts?
