Politics BLM protests across the US

It strikes me as tragically amusing that the deceased's own brother acts more reasonable and responsible than the mob in the streets. Floyd published a statement today asking protestors to express their anger in the upcoming elections and not trash their neighbours' homes and businesses. Well done.
I would think many of us in the same circumstance would scream 'kill em all'. So yes, he is indeed turning the other cheek.

I'd say more the fact it has nothing to do with the current situation since its an old photo

This "systemic racism" angle must be kept alive for as long as possible. It's literally the only strategy the Dems have. Once they lose 15-20% of the black vote, they will cease to exist as a party.

BTW, I can't think of a more worthless mayor than the one from Minneapolis. He should voluntarily resign for his utter lack of leadership.
How could 'systemic' racism exist? 8 years of Obama and I thought we were cleansed. In fact, all Obama did was divide this country further, leaned on the crutch of racism for his abysmal failings and fall behind the press for succor and protection. Which they gladly gave. Totally agree about the Minneapolis Mayor. I would add the Minneapolis Police Chief to that list as well, fire them both, now.

I wonder which Ivy League school this dipshit was brainwashed at? Her white guilt makes her more black than these black cops! It is so EASY for the left to manipulate these knuckleheads.

This is what I mean. I’ve driven through all of those places. Know a few of the cops on those depts. I have the same opinion of Lancaster PD. I’ve had contact with them in my jurisdiction. They received tickets. I know all of Lancaster PD are assholes but, like you I let a contact with a few of them taint my image of the agency.
I’ve never received a ticket from AZ Highway patrol either. If either of us did get a ticket would that make them shitty cops? I’m Hispanic looking and have a nice truck and have driven it out of state. Still no stops.
Sounds like you assume the worst. Sometimes random is random. Racial Profiling is universally known amongst all cops as bad cop work. Meaning it sucks as a tool. Extreme situations might pan out but not likely. For example, if you saw 4 Hispanic males driving through a predominantly black hood known to be run by one of the blood gangs. Are you a good cop by not assuming that hispanic males are up to no good? Or, am I a good cop for making a petty traffic stop and shaking them down for weapons? If I make the stop I basically profiled them by race and if I'm right, just initiated a high risk stop with 4 armed gangbangers. If I do the right thing and don't make assumptions based on race, do just other gang members get killed? Shouldn't I protect them too? Don't twist your brain on this. This is an isolated scenario in isolated areas. Just like the horrible incident in MN. One of the joys of my job is kind of weird. I used to love to stop and help stranded motorists. MA, Motorist Assist call in my agency. It's weird because most cops loath that stop. It's not real cop work. It's what AAA is for. I don't care. I get to go help someone for a change. Make them feel safe. It's a breath of light compared to calls for service or traffic stops. Less negative. People are happy to see you when they are stranded. I lost a fellow Troop just recently to this. He stopped to check on a stranded motorist. Called out the MA and was shot as he exited his patrol car. He was stripped of his uniform and left in the desert like a dead animal. The shooter took his car and left. It was an isolated incident, just like the one in MN. Yet, like you, my outlook has changed. Not by social media that has curated nothing but negative images and content about evil, crazy, white men laying in ambush disguised as stranded motorists. One incident, and I can't stop out with a driver with a flat tire and not be on edge. So I know how powerful police contact can be to both sides of any contact. The difference is that there is no coverage of me buying some single mother a car seat instead of giving her a ticket she can't afford. No one wants to watch me change a tire, or buy cheeseburgers for the homeless guy that I have to tell he can't panhandle here any more. Live PD doesn't air the times I ask them to leave my scene because the accident victim's family hasn't been notified yet. It's not good TV. No one films the time they were driving like a jack ass but got off with a warning. That's the nature of police work. Your outside look at the state of policing is just the curated view that you were intended to see. It affects your view of your own police contact just like losing a brother does to me. If the expectation of a positive contact with a cop is the goal.. I'm not sure you understand the premise of policing. Citizens create laws, hire cops, expect cops to enforce laws, on the same citizens. Peace officer doesn't mean we patrol around and put out good vibes.

I do want to thank you for sharing your view however. I know my own view is biased because I'm a cop. Just know that the view you expressed has been manipulated as well. Also, if I come across as frustrated, I apologize. The sheer betrayal right now is pretty raw. I've never expected any accolades but the complete dismissal of the sacrifice involved and being generalized is heart breaking.

I'm sorry, this was meant as another reply for junglejim

Macy's looted. Cuomo threatens to fire and replace deBlasio. My my my....

I liked that part:

“How are we going to beat it back? We are going to beat it back by asking authentic leaders of communities to step forward, take charge. Community leaders, civic leaders, clergy, elected officials... all the people who actually represent communities. Step forward, create peace, own your community.

“Do not let outsiders attack your community, do not let a violent few attack your community,” he continued. “Stand up, I’ll be standing by you. I’ll be supporting you. The NYPD will be supporting you.”

How are we going to beat it back?
Well they are going to do the job. And I will support them.

In other words he is not planing on doing S**t.

A lot of my black friends are posting blank black pictures on Instagram.
Dafuq???

^------Yep. I noticed that too in Facebook. One of the persons said that I should unfriend them if I don't type AGREE. Instead, I've been unfriending or 30-day-snoozing everybody who throws me a blank/black picture today. Kind of fun. I don't need their drama right now anyway. Basically, one gal said "if you don't believe Black Lives Matter, then unfriend me".
