Politics BLM protests across the US

Virtue signaling in Helsinki:

"Many people ask why we want to voice our opinion [here] when the events happened in the United States and not in Finland, but the fact that racism happens at all is the problem. We want to show that we stand in support of our brothers and sisters," Balhass said.

Absolutism in regards to racism, an opinion, is maybe a bit high hurdle don't you think?

‘Let American Imperialism Collapse’: How Is Russian TV Covering U.S. Protests?

Cities across the United States have been rocked by a week of protests against police brutality and injustice toward African-Americans that have at times turned violent and destructive.

Multiple incidents involving police violence against demonstrators and journalists were broadcast live at riots nationwide following the killing of an unarmed black man, George Floyd, in police custody on May 25. More than 9,000 people have been arrested and 11 people, many of whom were African-Americans, have been killed amid the unrest.

Russian newspaper coverage of the unrest has been described as “relatively low-key and factual,” despite racially charged language that has appeared in some of the country’s most-read tabloid columns and been shared by pro-Kremlin media conglomerate RT's chief editor.

The Moscow Times dove deeper into the coverage of the mass protests in the U.S. Here are the key quotes from some of Russia’s most-watched political talk shows:

“Vremya Pokazhet” (Time Will Tell), Channel One

“There are certain forces behind the protests. There’s a certain democratic political consensus making sure that this unrest doesn’t end too soon.”

“Everything is being done to show that Trump can’t govern America without these incidents [happening].”

“Trump must be the reason behind the protests. Someone isn’t profiting from his presidency.”

“60 Minutes,” Rossia

“Leading U.S. media are carrying out propaganda in the style of the Soviet Union. It pays to seek out Kremlin agents.”

“They will blame Trump, saying that Vladimir Putin is his best friend.”

“The allegation is that Russia interfered in the protests [and is] influencing the elections.”

“Evening With Vladimir Solovyov,” Rossia

“People are joking all around... Jokes are jokes, but this is a real tragedy.”

“Trump’s position will strengthen while the country tears itself apart.”

“This is a high-level game against Trump… Democratic Party political technologists are attempting to characterize Trump as a dictator. As soon as active restraint measures and new sacrificial victims go into play, the Democrats’ last hope would be to declare that dictatorship has come to U.S. shores, Trump is illegitimate and there’s no need for elections.”

Mesto Vstrechi” (Meeting Place), NTV

“The feeling of Schadenfreude is absolutely on point: Let American imperialism rot and collapse.”

“This is a pre-revolutionary situation. The protesters have nothing to lose and want to change the system.”

“American society isn’t built to solve the problems of the black minority, which took the most casualties from coronavirus.”

“America is still a strong country and the protests are a signal to the global elites that something needs to be done with inequality.”

“But you can’t forget the pre-election period, the [coronavirus] crisis.”

I'd be impressed if instead, they all sent $10 to the American Red Cross to look after wounded people on the streets. Really who in USA is taking note of what the good citizens in Helsinki do, or think.

I'm suprised they are not calling for their government to break links with Mr Trump, as police training must be his fault.

Its as if the COVID issue is now past news. Which part of no mass gatherings doesn't work in Finnish?

A white journalist tries to convince a black conservative that the U.S.A. is a racist country.
The black guy responds that it's a BS:

If you know Dave Rubin and his show, virtue signaling of this kind is not really his thing. He’s more like playing a devil’s advocate in this video, than anything else.

Young and the Restless have decided that it was a government conspiracy to ruin their spring.

Finnish government had limited gatherings at 10 people. Now it's supposed to be max 50 people.

Yes, he is. He and Larry are very good friends. They probably shared a bottle of wine afterwards.

Okay dokey.

@Telmar: I haven’t had the time to reply to your analogy between the French Yellow jackets movements and the Floyd’s case yet.

In short: 20,000 jackasses demonstrated against police brutality in Paris yesterday evening.

A few thoughts:

- They are trying to make a link between what has happened to Mr. Floyd and Adama Traoré, a notorious thug with a criminal record that was supposedly « killed » by gendarmes close to where I live four years ago.

- Yellow Jacket for whom I had a bit of sympathy first have totally lost me, not because of their violence particularly but because they started to support every ghetto thug that was somehow a victim of the police. Hey! If the cops are after you, you’re not supposed to escape, ride your car at 100 km per hour in the city and end up killed or whatever. You give yourself in if you did nothing wrong.

- Regarding racism being merely « An opinion ». You’d have to be a straight up mental defective to believe that S**t. It’s not an opinion and even in 1A America, things are going to change, whether you like it or not. Stormfront or 8chan fellas, « White supremacists » that have called for violence online posing for Antifa are holding their last breath. I have no doubt about it.

The dust is beginning to settle in the US and some « BLM » movements are trying to pick up the slack in Europe demonstrating whereas the pandemic is not over yet.

Good luck with that.

Would there have been all this fuss if he had killed the policeman?

What happened to the two officers who were holding his legs down

I have read that the looters have shot dead a retired officer who was trying to protect his friends shop

Seems to me that a lot of people have jumped on the bandwagon

It's so sad when people are not allowed to steal ;)

Policemen have been killed, wounded, in critical condition, barely hanging onto to life, fire bombed and run over, during all this - and the corrupt, criminal, media couldn't even care enough to report it.

Apparently Klobuchard said the three other policemen have also been charged.

News quotes ...

So basically the Russian media which is over 90% state controlled does less biased reporting on this situation than the US MSM ...

--------

The charges against all officers involved have been increased. One to second-degree murder and the three other officers are charged with aiding and abetting.

The directive from Kremlin is that "Trump is our president", but at the same time US is about to disintegrate and disappear, so the media is balancing two prime directives. Also, TV is different from other sources of information. The stories coming from "runet" are fake central. For example, remember the tanker truck driver who allegedly drove into protesters. Well, the "runet" portrayed him as off the rocks veteran of the Ukrainian armed forces who killed civilians on Donbas and continues to do so in the USA. In reality, the dude while an ethnic Ukrainian never served in the armed forces.
