N / THE POST The Treasury warned the Ardern Labour Government to pull back and target its Covid-19 spending, as non-urgent Covid spending and the declining business cycle saw the Budget deficit blow out, according to a newly released Treasury document. In the Treasury’s 2025 Long Term Insights Briefing - a document it is required to produce every three years - said that the response to the Covid-19 pandemic “was a significant motivator for this briefing”.

Labour leader and former Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins says appearing at the second set of public hearings for the Covid-19 Royal Commission would be an unprecedented move that risks subjecting him and other witnesses to a torrent of abuse. National minister Judith Collins has slammed the decision by former Prime Minister Dame Jacinda Ardern not to front as “gutless and hypocritical”.

To begin with National critisized NZ First Peters for wanting the enquiry. Now after looking at Taxcindies debt they realize he was right.
Perhaps Taxcindy got us into debt so we couldn't pay for the interest and force us to have her wealth taxes. Hipkins used to be silient on that and now hes gone public...all for it. Who cares right? Those that create too much money can pay for it!
