I have a similar view since many years already.
Some put all their eggs in the China basket. You will never hear the real story from them.
Though if you open your eyes the discrepancies are massive.
Not talking about the unfeasibility to manoeuvre such an autocratic moloch into perpetual and self sustaining progress.
It has deeply engrained traits making it impossible.
The fact alone that chatGPT has to learn not to critize the CCP...says all you need to know about Chinas future.

Govt happy to back a barbaric sport that rides on the back of injured horses and the slow ones go to the pet food shop, that relies and promotes gambling.
On a local version of ebay there is Chinese made stuff for the same price as in China. Their mercantile behavior gets a free pass.
A headlight for $12 and one that looks and functions similar is $600 in shops. Not too far off those high end brands will be dead. We will not know what further innovations they would have created.
