He mentioned he’d never “shut up” about racial injustice in the US, and yet... crickets from him about China and the CCP labeling Homosexuality as a possible mental disorder.

His net worth is about $450M btw and as such, he’s no “nobody”. If he believes in racial injustices in America ??, he should do the same about China ??.

Hypocrite. Like those Hollywood celebrities that keep berating the US, and are silent on China, and other tyrants oppressing their people around the world.

The provided rational is:

-he is black, thus oppressed, and don't need to be lectured about oppression.
-Uighurs haven't voiced their support for BLM and US Social Justice.

One could also add he is in China's pocket and recently got to star in Space Jam 2.

Lazy PR stunt and easy cash grab.

So if your a sports star and you kneel for the USA anthem you need to "stick to sports"..... but if you dont comment on a court ruling in a foreign country your a slave to your financial masters?
Can we get some consistancy please....

The Cancel Culture mob will give it's Chinese Masters a pass ,,,

Lebron seems to like to comment on all sorts of social justice and political issues. In fact, he goes out of his way to tell people his opinions. He fancies himself smart and articulate on these matters, (YMMV). Except when it comes to his CCP masters - because they can do no wrong. He is not the least bit bothered that the CCP uses ACTUAL Uighar slave labor to make his Nike shoes he collects millions of dollars per year promoting.

When an NBA GM sends an innocuous tweet about free speech and support for the Hong Kong protestors, and the CCP throws a fit, he is the first one to support his communist masters. As LeBron says, he is "More than an Athlete".

LeBron James is a duplicitous, self aggrandizing, fool, who sees himself as quite a bit smarter than he actually is.

He is the one who could do well with a bit of consistency.

It’s just one of many slices in China’s Three Warfares Doctrine.

Psychological warfare
Media warfare
Legal warfare

A decade ago they reshot the Red Dawn film remake to represent North Korea rather than China, or risk losing Chinese film distribution and financing forever.

Today there are more NBA fans in China than people in North America for a Chinese NBA market worth $4B annually.

One personal tweet by a single NBA team GM led to an instantaneous and total halt of that $4B annual income.

The sycophantic cowtowing to the exact same political party(CCP) and personal political party army(PLA) that executed the most horrific genocide in human history, such that Hitler places a distant 3rd place, is simply sickening.

And against their own people.

What will they do to non-Han Chinese if given an opportunity?

This is a different kind of war, “hot competition” rather than Cold War.

One we are entirely uncomfortable and unfamiliar with how to fight.

We need to start, quickly and comprehensively.

The idea of a technocratic communist collective that makes the Nazis look like absolute amateurs should scare the sh!t out of approximately 82% of the planet.

Bingo!

Yes, but that was before.

They have insisted for political messages and activism to be made everywhere: sports, tv shows, cartoons, comics, games, etc...
Even crowfunding platforms like Kickstarter or video-games platform (can't remember the name atm) were either having "BLM" messages or having the users sign a charter, or an acknowledgment, regarding social issues.

The push back happened with these practices started. They are here now, they are part of the landscape, they are likely here to stay forever.

Lebron was very vocal when to issues regarding BLM, social justice, racial justice, racism, police violence and how bad and nefarious Trump was. Journalists were eager to ask him his opinion on these issues and he was more than happy to answer their questions at length. But his activism wasn't to interviews.

So, now "America is back" with Biden and, most importantly, the first WOC VP (woohoo!). All the "BLM, social justice, racial justice, racism, police violence and how bad and nefarious Trump was" are starting to die down, slowly replaced by "75m racists and white supremacists who voted for Trump".
But... still Lebron keeps talking about these issues, not to make people aware, but to maintain his image and status "remember me? I'm the guy who talked about the stuff!"
And at the same time is happening something very much within the field of grievance he had against the US: the Uighurs being herded in concentration camps by an authoritarian regime.

Yet? He remains silent. "I know what oppression is, don't talk to me about oppression".

I know this is taking the interpretation road but, doesn't it sound like "not all oppressions are equal and my oppression, as a black person living in the US, is far greater than any others"?

Why is the Lebron expected to be the voice opposing oppression world wide?
As a black american male im sure he was more than qualified to speak on the social injustices and racisim in America cause I have no doubt as a young man he has probably experienced those things, or has close friends who have experienced those things. But that doesnt make him qualified to be the spokesperson against worldwide oppression. And he should keep bring up the issues of race in America, it hasn't all just vanished into the air because Biden and Kamala have been voted in.

There’s been a beef between LeBron and soccer star Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has also experienced racism in his youth in Sweden with such a Slavic/Balkan name:

“Athletes unite the world, politics divide it,” he said. “Our role is to unite the world by doing what we do best. Athletes should be athletes and politicians should do politics.”

Last week Ibrahimovic singled out Los Angeles star LeBron James for bringing politics into the sporting arena.

“I like [James] a lot. He’s phenomenal, what he’s doing, but I don’t like when people with a status speak about politics. Do what you’re good at doing,” Ibrahimovic told Uefa and Discovery+ in Sweden.

“I play football because I’m the best playing at football, I don’t do politics. If I’d been a politician, I would be doing politics. This is the first mistake famous people do when they become famous: for me it is better to avoid certain topics and do what you’re good doing, otherwise you risk doing something wrongly.”

LeBron retorted at him:

James also pointed out that Ibrahimovic, who once said Muhammad Ali is his favourite athlete because of “what he did inside and outside the ring”, has spoken about politics in the past. “He’s the guy who said in Sweden, he was talking about the same things, because his last name wasn’t a [traditional Swedish] last name, he felt like there was some racism going on,” James said. “I speak from a very educated mind. I’m kind of the wrong guy to go at, because I do my homework.”

?‍♂️, and all of this has been happening for many decades. It’s always been.

Lewis Hamilton could take some of Zlatan's advice also!

He is still regarded as a traitor to his Country for playing for another Country .

LeBron is so damned smart. If you don't believe it, just ask him.

To be fair, the companies that sell stuff made in China very rarely own their own factories.

They have to go through CCP organizations which delegate the orders to Chinese owned companies and factories.

I wonder if Disney will also express its concerns.

Adidas and H&M are also, apparently, facing backlashes of some sort.

Not that he’s particularly important but French football player Antoine Griezmann recently ended his sponsorship to the phone giant Huawei over the Uighur and other minorities.

It’s a little step, but it’s sending a message to the CCP.

I wonder if Peter Tatche]l and his pals are MENTAL ENOUGH to protest outside the Chinese Embassy ,,,

When a western company enters a joint venture or contract supplier relationship the CCP does not decide which factory makes it.

For generic widgets, it’s typically whoever can best beat the price/performance in the contract combined with the need to continuously verify quality beyond the initial honeymoon period.

For high end specialised products, like Apple for example, it would be literally impossible to replicate at another factory without billions in sunk cost investment and full brand support.

But are CCP minions embedded throughout businesses? Absolutely.

So CCP may have commissars and IP thieves in Foxconn factory making iPhones, but the CCP didn’t decide or delegate the orders or the factories.

Fortunately the highest spec semiconductor fabs are outside of Mainland China and the tech is barred from there.

The bad news is all of the best semicon fabs are in Taiwan(TSMC) and it’s another 4 years until capacity comes online in the US Southwest.

A whopping 5% of global high end semicon capacity will be in the US in 2025.

So at the moment, China can’t get the best chips. But they may decide we can’t get them either.
