I mostly agree with you, except for Rittenhouse. In America, every American has the right to be anywhere, to go anywhere, as long as they are acting in a legal manner. Kyle had every right to be there, as much right as anyone else. However, the rioters did not. those that had caused damage and were attempting to cause more damage had no right to be there.
Kyle had a right to be there, he had a right to carry a rifle, and he had the god given right to defend himself.
Kyle was also requested to be there by the property owner whose property had been damaged the day before.
the rioters had waived their legal right to be there, by their destructive behavior.
anyhoo.
do you think its just a small segment of right and left pushing division, or do you think these divisive ideas are entrenched in significant amounts of people?
is the US hopelessly racist and rigged as such? Is the US prejudiced against anyone that is not straight, white, male and Christian?
I hope its just a very vocal minority that is pushing, but sometimes I wonder.
I have this idea that the republicans will take over come the midterms and..... nothing will change. and in two years the pendulum will swing back the other way once again.
Kyle was all in the right according to American laws. So thats a case closed. My opinion on that does not matter.
As for the second half of your post:
Do you think its just a small segment of right and left pushing division? I think its just people with agendas that are pushing for the division. However these people will add on to their "ideas and agendas" to get more people on their side and thus have become mainstream rather than fringe. It piles on and when you look at it it seems the US is truly divided and will go for a civil revolt. When in fact the reality each and every American would probably have far more in common with each other than those "leaders who takes up their cause." However, that will not do and hence everything is focused on what makes people tick.
Is the US hopelessly racist... yes. It has a fairly recent racist past. That one sadly you cant hide. However, is the US more racist than any other countries I've been to? Nope. You guys just wont shut up about it and are very obsessed with race. It's in your government forms, culture an psyche.
Is the US prejudiced against anyone non straight, white, male and Christian... the US is prejudiced against everyone, just depends on which American is judging you. It' a nation of immigrants so its just tribal instinct to be prejudiced against somebody that doesnt fit your tribe.
Now here's the thing, so far all over the US, all those prejudice and racism somehow I can overcome, which means they arent that deep. Whatyou guys need is more conversation and understanding. Then you guys will realize that you all want the same things. That blackman screaming "oppression" wants the same thing as that whiteboy screaming "our way of life." My friends from the Philippines can fit in in Los Angeles (good god why do some want to live there) with rural Georgia (meh), they had the mindset of "S**t we are here and lets deal with it" the "natives" (you guys) somehow felt it easily to accept them.
Buuuuuuut thats not what sells news and that would be scary for people in power.... imagine No African American, No Latino American, No White non hispanic American, just Americans demanding for a better life for all. You might actually get it. So they sow separation and fear from the tribes, divide and conquer.
Sorry I'm all over the place, im still sober.
Trailer for the long post: Jimmy lived in the US, experienced racism, still very successful and made friends with racist friends from all sides. confused by all the races in SATs. Prefer boondocks than L.A.
