Recently, there was a ruling by Minnesota’s highest court that would have been big news if it had happened prior to Derek Chauvin’s trial for the killing of George Floyd — as it should have. At this point, its importance is greatly diminished, even though it will almost certainly result in the reversal and dismissal of one of the charges against the former Minneapolis cop — specifically, the third-degree “depraved indifference” murder count.

The idea that race-relations were perfectly fine before the murder of George Floyd is outright laughable. Various surveys show that an overwhelming majority of black Americans (80%+) believe that they face a lot of discrimination in the US. Racial inequality has run rampage in 'Murica ever since its ascendency, and this persistent phenomenon continues to simmer in its society ever since. The fact the US fails to address and solve this issue for ages shows serious deficiencies in its societal strength and ability of its majority group (whites) to showcase empathy with the plight of their African-African compatriots; those whose ancestors they brutally enslaved and later burdened with all kinds of Jim Crow laws to the detriment of their socio-economic development.

Most importantly, early in Morgan Freeman's career, he was a cast member on Electric Company, teaching millions of kids like me how to count, sound out words, and read.

My family was just watching some Netflix show about Hollywood cliches and they went full retard on white guilt cliches(some were legit relevant), but when they included Morgan Freeman characters in the mix I had to explain Morgan Freeman's contribution to early childhood education to my two kids.

I told my kids that after their grandparent's voices, the most distinctive and impactful voice for me is Morgan Freeman's because the guy literally taught me how to count and pronounce words thru the television.

That's not pandering, that's impactful appreciation.
