Politics All Things Trump

I remember an administration of a president, called one of the greatest in history by most, waiting until it's ideological near-twin was so desperate to the point where they traded loads of bases all over the world for a couple of leaky derelict hulls, instantly transforming his country into a global superpower. Whatever needs to be done to reach the goal.

This isn't about bases, it's resources. Which China is acquiring at an alarming rate due to western politeness and self-enforced weakness. I've seen Muck and Pegasus posting about European companies being sold to China so they can get their hands on the technology often enough. Infrastructure projects in the Balkans and Italy financed by China to provide leverage (extortion when they can't pay back the loan).

Etc.

We've been allowing China to make us their bootlicker for decades by being the nice guy.

Nice guys finish last.

Valid points, all while agreeing with Herr muck too.

Europe is under the US and NATO umbrella. First tenure of Trump showed that he never started a war, beside getting rid of Soleymany in Iraq, well deserved.

I dislike the thought of entertaining to take Greenland and the Panama Canal, Canada is the most absurd of all and no Canadian in their right mind would love to become a 51st state.

BUT, chicoms and yeah they’re buying over Serbia and other Russo-Chinese lackeys and we’re next. And it’s not going to be pretty.

Reunification with Taiwan that Xi is dying for to happen will show the strength of China when the US navy gets involved.

As Denmark is part of the west, I don't think talking in terms of "western" is fitting, this would be just for the US.

It would be questionable if there even would be the west as a block, if countries start hacking pieces of each other. It would fracture. The Nordics at least would be very much against our closest ally taking land from one of us... And I doubt there would be too much politeness from the rest of the EU either.

Which would be great for China and Russia.

So, I would encourage to make some smarter plan that doesn't treat allies as enemies.

Meds may play a role, but I'd blame parents. ADHD and anxiety disorder correlate with a lack of discipline in parenting.

The rise in dyslexia is a global one, regardless of the quality and form of healthcare, and likely related to the decline of handwriting and book-reading. Read a very interesting study on this a while ago. A ridiculous number of Chinese university graduates, for example, can't write nor read traditional Chinese scripture anymore, because they only ever use Pinyin. And like a third of them get diagnosed with dyslexia, a rise in the hundreds of percent.

There also is the fact we live, and have been living, in a constantly growing, over-stimulating society.
And with it comes a number of behavioral issues people will, eventually, end up developing.

Things go faster, we can get stuff much quicker, technology is advanced enough for people to be able to delegate down to their most menial tasks, etc...

These create habits and affect behavior.

Denmark has sent mixed signals. First saying Greenland is a part of Denmark and subsequently that Greenland's business is Greenland's business.

If that freedom means the option of flogging everything of strategic value off to China that's directly challenging US hegemony right outside it's doorstep.

Many of you are thinking from enlightenment principles which is why Europe finds it so difficult to deal* with the likes of Russia, China and the US as well who have an actual strategy based on power projection through various means and not empty ideologues who retract their turd at the slightest pushback. Wishy washy bleeding heart weakness gets you nowhere in global affairs other than doing the bidding of others.

* Except for when it comes to buying cheap resources and products from Russia and China, then all principles are conveniently selectively forgotten.

Greenland is autonomous part of Denmark, so both are true at the same time.

Greenland has the right to declare independence, after holding a referendum. And hell, even to apply to join the US after that.

But so far they have not done so.

it was a strategy based on strong alliances and free trade.

Well, let's see if this new strategy works as well.

He be trollin', they keep swallowing the bait hook, line and sinker like idiots.

Hopefully you realize and understand that “trolling” isn’t part of being a POTUS to be, doesn’t he have better things to do?

Worked just fine the first time around.

European politicians criticise US politicians all the time while they are actively turning their own countries into third world sh*tholes.

Don't hear anyone asking if they don't have anything better to do.

I just love the fact that the Americans in this thread seem to be totally on board with this insanity.

So he'll buy Canada, attack Panama and Denmark, and rename the Gulf of Mexico.

Didn't you vote for that guy to lower cost of living? Great to see everyone has their priorities in order.

Folks, you've traded senile dementia for infantile dementia. And America is going to become even more oligarchic than it already is, by the looks of it.
Actually, I don't mind it one bit.

The Panama Canal WILL NOT be allowed to be controlled by the CCP - which it pretty much is at this point. It is an important and strategic national asset which was (stupidly) given away, but with certain conditions. It's a shot across the bow of the CCP and the Panamanian government which they control. Good!

As far as Greenland goes, it has been protected by the US ever since Denmark abandoned it to the Nazis in WW2. In 1946 the Truman Administration considered buying it from Denmark, but other more pressing issues sidelined that. There is precedence. The US bought the US Virgin Islands from Denmark. It also seems that the Greenlanders aren't really opposed to it. We'll see.

Canada, I'm not sure what to say. Seems Trudeau resigned, (a good thing), after Trump called him Governor of the 51st state and pointed out how heavily taxed they are. I'd imagine better trade negotiations are in the offing.

Worked so fine that he lost in 2020 to a senile, dementia elder.

I wasn’t making any point about Western Europeans and my views on them are documented enough.

Lastly, a mere criticism of Trump should be accepted and audible unless one is that sensitive. He’s not God, we’ll see how the next four years pan out.

Also.....Trump is not President yet, in case anyone hasn't noticed. Trolling is his super power at the moment. 12 more days and the real work begins.

yes, but I don't remember any European saying that they're going to invade or buy a country and take it for themselves.

It's a very different criticism.

What Trump said was simply idiotic nonsense and should be taken that way.

Well, recently Macron called African countries ungrateful because they didn't thank France for what it had done for them.

Again, there will always be those kind of criticism toward other countries, but not a moronic one like orange man.

He's not POTUS yet. So, he probably doesn't have better things to do.

He doesn't have to worry about winning another election....

Which part of “POTUS to be” didn’t you understand my friend? ;)
I gotcha. Just reiterating it.

Also today, California is burning and fire fighters have no water. POTUS is taking a nap. POTUS to be posted this.
