I think Mr Trump’s obsession with Greenland is not solely about Critical and Strategic Minerals. Two other factors should be taken into consideration.
1, Arctic Shipping Routes. Thanks to global warming and new technologies. Arctic shipping lanes have become an increasingly attractive business model. When I worked in my pervious job, that was before Russia invade Ukraine, a lot of customers asked us to explore the arctic shipping lane options. While these routes remain impractical for now, they have the potential to drastically reduce transit time from manufacturing hubs in East Asia to consumer markets in Europe, reduce the emission to save the planet (which is bad news, we need more CO2 to melt the damn ice).

2, What If WW3 broke out. Here I am using CMO command: modern operations as a sandbox. This simulates two Chinese DF-41 brigades, one in Heilongjiang province, one in Xinjiang, fire ICBMs at US cities around great lakes and east coast. Check these ICBM’s trajectory.

So, damn, Greenland needs to be converted into an Imperial province to host land based mid-course interceptor, Naval bases need to be built there to support DDG with missile defense capabilities. Canada needs to be lured into 51st state. Followed by Mexico, millions of hardworking folks there are eager to become his majesty’s loyal citizens from 52nd state.


Put jokes aside, it’s just like playing the Risk board game. There are some urgencies to militarize Canada’s Arctic region, deny the adversarial countries influence over Greenland. However, Mr Trump got to STFU, he is doing more harm than good here. This sensitive matter needs team-work, cooperation and compromise. The reckless big mouth will only have the opposite effect.

Greenland is kind of like an old Porsche sitting in someone's front yard. It hasn't moved in years. You occasionally knock on Denmark's door and inquire about buying it. Denmark says no, they plan on restoring it one day.

The border was on its way to being secured at the end of Trump's first term.

But then he "lost to a senile, dementia elder" in 2020, and totally not to electoral votes, who put Mayorka in charge and Kamala as the Border Czar.
Which allowed millions of illegals to cross into the US without any kind of vetting whatsoever.

As a defense the Biden admin ran with:

-it is not happening.

Oh it was purely intensional.

There may have been incompetent people to do the job of protecting the border.

But the outcome was not the result of incompetence, it was entirely intensional and organized in such a way that the result was saw unfold was achieved.
They had absolutely 0 concern about the outcome and the impact on the local populations where these illegals would be dumped. Nor did they really care where they would go.
Countless people got killed by the hands of illegals, sometimes as a result of an unfortunate accident, but sometimes as a result of abhorrent acts committed by genuine criminals belonging to highly dangerous gangs.

But it got dismissed as racism, conspiracy theories and deflected with the dishonest argument that "yeah well, in the grand scheme of things, more people die by the hands of people who are not illegal immigrants... so technically you are more likely to get killed by your own neighbor who is as American as apple-pie."

Funnily enough, these are the exact same arguments made in the UK by those who are trying to dismiss and sweep under the rug that abhorrent scandal regarding the thousands of little girls who got trafficked and sexually abused by Pakistani rape-gangs since 2008.

The California fires are a complete disaster. Amazing though, on social media, posters are trying to blame Trump because he was talking about Canada and Greenland last week. Whatever that connection is - who knows. The complete and utter incompetence of the Governor, the Mayor of LA, who was warned about the impending fires as she was leaving for Africa last week and the DEI LA Fire Dept leaders seem to be getting a free pass.

I've never seen such a combination of complete incompetence and arrogance in my life.

There was another one of a hose just pouring water into the fire for a long time and the fire simply ignored it.

This and the smelt instead of water supply for humans.

In term of practical impacts: there is none.

He can't own a gun, but he has life time Secret Service. So who cares.

It does not impact his security clearance since he does not have one, since he is the individual from whom security clearance flows.

He can still go wherever he wants.

The verdict is technically illegal, through abeas collateral attack on the basis it is not supported by the federal law it will likely be overturned. In other words the sentence getting reversed and vacated.
Which, according to the SCOTUS would require an excessively unsubstantial burden of proof on Trump.
