Politics BLM protests across the US

That was a part of information that was missing. Not reacting to the call of police to stop is getting into trouble, threatening police officers even more...

However, shooting 7 times in the back still seems to me very unprofessional: almost a reaction of panic. I am amazed the guy still lives.

It' s not easy to be a police officer these days for sure, and it' s not going to get easier with such situations.

Training and recruitment need to be made a priority: with better pay, consideration, and perhaps a hard look at SOP's.

Bad treatment of police officers by politicians and some segments of society is counterproductive to the recruitment efforts not only in quantity but also quality of recruited.

You repeatedly keep violating the forum rules. That's why.
Simples
You even posted Navalny's picture, after he got attacked with the toxic green powder and lost 80% of sight in his eye as a result, in two totally different topics.
If you had not posted the information about your age, I would have thought that you are 14.

I had discussion with bfc1001 about NEXTA who write in Russian despite being based in Poland, if you are not happy with NEXTA about that complain to them or to Polish government instead of bringing Navalny into this topic?

Yes that's very true.

It' s a vicious cycle, but I don' t think it happens everywhere. In Slovakia, noone likes the cops who give you a speeding ticket, but they are respected. In the USA, in France, mobs defy police constantly, talks about police brutality cover any action by police, even legitimate as hell, and the police don' t get their share of justice when they do right...

But sometimes they do wrong: excessive use of LBD's by police in France have even killed an old woman on her balcony, police charged a concert in a desolate part of a city because they did'nt stop at 2 am and a guy fell in the river and drowned, a fat and unarmed motorcycle driver who was arguing with police and insulting the officers got locked down for many minutes like Floyd and died.

The tools they are provided (for example LBD' s have unfortunately replaced the water cannons), the quality of the management and orders need to be questioned too. I actually feel for the officer who needs to use his LBD gun because the brains of this country are incapable of putting together an effective strategy against mobs. I feel when they are accused of violence against the yellow vests because noone really questions what the yellow vests were doing.

And I feel for all the officers getting a hard time because a colleague thought he needed to discharge 7 bullets in a guy who was' nt facing him.

The more I watch clips like this, the more I appreciate the prophetic brilliance of Chuck Palahniuk and his Fight Club...

Boredom. A horrible existential boredom. A whole generation bored out their f***ing minds. No real problems to solve, no real war to fight, no nothing, engaging in their little pointless Project Mayhem...

Arsonists set several buildings ablaze and torched much of the Black business district

what difference does it make where he was shot? front, back, it doesnt matter.
police are allowed to use deadly force to stop a felon from escaping. this has been before the us supreme court before.

That guy has a history of crime and using violence against police. You simply cannot approach such criminals in a well-mannered way, as it never works.

By the way, two police officers were shot by suspects in the last several weeks in that same city. Could THAT have anything to do with current issue? Criminals being completely non-compliant when approached by police, being ready to fight? And this guy was also wanted for sexual assault, so he was not just Joe Peaceful. Nevertheless, the medial portrays him as just a nice guy with a van with kids in it...

It could be that a sense of impunity developed.

People know the cops are under a heightened scrutiny, and the cops know anything they do and say could be used against them. A sort of reversed Miranda.

I fully agree that the man could not be allowed to get back to his car. The officer was right to use tools at his disposal to stop that.

But were there no better options? Not even the bombers of the Boston marathon were shot that many times, and they were heavily armed, and firing at the police.

I mean, there is room between extremes here...

Blake was arrested in 2015 for waving a gun in a bar and issuing threats to customers. When the police arrived, he physically attacked the officers. The LEOs found a loaded gun inside his car.

I cannot blame them for shooting him, as they assumed he tried to reach a gun in his car.

As I said, he could not be allowed to get back to his car. We agree here. I just find emptying the gun in the guy a complete clusterfcuk. If some of you disagree so be it.

It' s amazing in a way that the dude is' nt dead BTW.

As a LEO of 32 years and still currently serving, if this happened in Australia I would be on the way to court charged with attempted murder. I understand completely all the different permutations in this incident and the fears of the officers involved.

However, I cannot shoot a person because I "apprehend" he may be going for a weapon, I cannot use deadly force until a threat is actually manifested and then I am justified in shooting to stop the threat and will keep shooting until the threat stops ie he hits the ground.

I know that how it is judged in the US is completely different than here in Australia but I would rather stand by my training and the expectations placed on me here than being a LEO in the USA. I hope the officers are judged fairly according the mores of the system in the US

apparently neither this man, nor the boston bombers were shot enough. the lot of them should have had enough well placed rounds to assure all of them reached ambient temperature in short order.
again, the amount of times a person is shot, the placement of the rounds, none of that matters. the supreme court has the final say on these matters and they are clear. a cop is justified using whatever force necessary, including deadly force, to stop a felon.
it does not matter if that felon is armed or not.

Something clearly went wrong, between the 2 cops and the felon/victim.

They didnt have control, and didnt get control, and it reached a point where it appears he was shot 7 times.

Then the world gets white cops shot a black guy 7 times(all true) now what 48 hours later we are being told he had a knife and had said he was going for a gun. I'd suggest some people wake the F**k up over there. Within 1 hour this should be coming out.

We have been through the whats allowed, whats allowed doesnt mean it has to happen.

Poor control by the Police, silly actions by the guy.

Going to the overall situation with the vids, I couldnt work out what the lady in the pink top, or the people having coffee had done?

Frankly it looks like chaos, this isnt protest, this is anarchy. Protest is that Belarus is doing, half a million marching, in daylight, to get their voice heard.

Then the civilians guys with guns, that just looks like another disaster waiting to happen. Also who the hell stands near a burning gas station.....
