For that kind of money and in the current market ...
I know we like to joke about Germany buying overpriced vessels, but I think Portugal will come off disappointed here. Is there a company in Europe, North America or Oceania that would build a patrol boat of that size for only €7.8 million? For reference, a Combat Boat 90 – which looks small in comparison to that thing – already costs €3 million.

Yep. For what they want they'll have to add like another zero ...

€35m - €130m depending on size and capability is a more realistic figure. And that's if they actually buy 8.

The Australian Arafura class will have light UAV capability and that's already upwards of €400m. Note that I said "will", the base ships don't have it yet.

My company can do it. But I must remain anonymous and receive the down payment 60% after signing.

Finnish navy Jehu class (similar to CB90) cost some 2.8M€/ship 10 years ago. This is about 10 times bigger ship by tonnage.

Saab has today signed a contract with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) regarding delivery of a third GlobalEye airborne early warning and control aircraft to Sweden. The order value is approximately SEK 2.6 billion and the delivery period is 2024-2029.

The order is based on an option included in Saab’s contract with FMV from June 2022 which included two GlobalEye as well as options to procure two additional aircraft. GlobalEye has the Swedish designation S 106.

Maybe it will be a scale model prototype 😁

400M? Hyundai made cheaper frigates for the Philippines

Austria buys 12 more UH-60M helicopters from the United States. (Source)

24 UH-60M and 36 AW169 is an impressive fleet for a military of that size. For comparison, this is more than what's fielded by Belgium or Czechia.
Another order for 105 Leopard 2A8 was announced today. (Source)
Magazine 'Der Spiegel' reports that yet another record-breaking contract for artillery shells is in the making. This one would go to a consortium by Diehl and Norway's Nammo and would cover shells worth €15 billion. The contract explicitely mentions Ukraine as a co-beneficiary.
3266 Brimstone 3 guided missiles for Germany's Typhoons
All of the above passed parliament yesterday, as did a host of other purchases and contracts – including small arms ammunition, 6.500 HX trucks from Rheinmetall, 506 Stinger MANPADS, and the new Norwegian-German Tyrfing anti-ship missile. Interestingly, the German ministry of defence asked parliament for approval without being able to submit finished contracts. Parliament was quite annoyed but grudgingly greenlit the purchases anyway so as to speed up procurement, despite the associated risks.

Indeed. I actually think it will end up being one of the biggest, most military helicopter fleets after the "heavyweight" European powers (UK, France, Spain, Germany, Italy).

Are the 105 Leopard 2A8s replacements for older tanks in BW service or will they be an expansion of the tank force? I know some of them (35?) will be destined for the future Lithuania brigade.

From what I can gather, it'll be a mix of all of the above. Tanks donated to Ukraine, older A6's and a company of A5's (only used for training) need replacing, and all battalions will receive a materiel reserve. So there'll be an increase in tanks (from 310 to 438) but no additional units. What happens next will depend on whether or not the Dutch stand up their tank corps again.

In other news, Germany's chief of defence, General Carsten Breuer, has publicly advocated for the reinstating of conscription for both men and women. It's quite remarkable for Breuer to make a political statement; German soldiers are sworn to political neutrality. (Source)

Parliament authorized preliminary planning for a tank battalion within 43rd Mechanized Brigade (whether this will replace 414 Pz. Bat. is unclear) which was completed in February. If it happens the unit will likely be stationed in Germany, the Netherlands doesn't have the space nor support infrastructure.

The decision to go ahead was left to the new government and plans for the new year are announced in late September. Given the previous government spent cash like crazy in their last few months in office I doubt a decision will be made this year as the new government is cash-strapped.

Really cool, but this must also be quite expensive, akin to Pzh 2000 but on wheels.

While countries are trying to replenish their lack of artillery with inexpensive truck based unarmored systems.

Archer, Atmos, Caesar and Dana all have armoured cabins. This is a more protected version of Dana with better mobility. The base vehicles already exist as Boxer is entirely modular and IIRC Germany has ordered additional Boxers.

This vehicle can operate in a higher threat environment and is expeditionary (in case there is nothing available to move it in one piece the vehicle and module can be shipped seperately).

Upgunning part of the boxer fleet is necessary, the motorized units of the German and Dutch armies lack both firepower and organic artillery support.

And it can fire on the move nothing can do that until now.
