So far nothing has been cut. Its a financial process initiated by the Bundesrechnungshof because in contrast to Russia every Cent spent must be accounted for.

So they have to recalculate. Its as if you buy a house in the US and plan a mortgage in €s. You plan 300 but no one is giving the house to you still for 300 when you suddenly should pay 350€ for the same mortgage in dollars

Just basic accounting.

Sweden's new prime minister said Tuesday he was open to allowing nuclear weapons on Swedish soil once the country becomes a NATO member, a turnaround from the previous government's stance.

Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, who took over the reins in Sweden two weeks ago, was speaking in Helsinki at a press conference with his Finnish counterpart Sanna Marin, whose country is applying for membership in the Atlantic alliance together with Sweden.

When asked if the two nations would accept nuclear weapons on their soil, Marin replied: "We shouldn't put any preconditions... We have decided that we don't want to close any doors for the future."
Kristersson agreed.

"You will receive exactly the same answer from me as from the Finnish prime minister", he said.
"It's very natural for Sweden and Finland to act very jointly in these matters and have exactly the same formalisation. So I have no other intention than going hand-in-hand also in this sense with Finland", Kristersson told reporters.

Both Marin and Kristersson however acknowledged that reservations could be negotiated "later".

The Norwegian Defense Material Agency (NDMA) signed an agreement with Hanwha Defense on 07 November 2022 to exercise an option to acquire additional 4x K9 Thunder SPH and 8x K10 ARV. This option is being exercised as part of the $180 million deal from December 2017. The number of systems in Norwegian service will increase to total of 28x K9 and 14x K10 following today's announcement. All deliveries will be completed within the next 2 years according to NDMA spokesperson.

This order comes soon after Poland's $2.4 billion K9 deal in August, and arrives in advance of key decision expected before the end of 2022 for acquisition of Norwegian Army's new main battle tank. South Korean K2 Black Panther and German Leopard 2A7 are competing in Norway's MBT trial.

We'll hopefully see Norway acquire the South Korean K2. Korea seems to be ramped up for production, as opposed to most western Arms producers, which are setup to build less than the bare minimum at the highest price.

Yeah that's great except for when you get in a large scale conflict and your tank factory is at the other side of the world.

The command of the German army considers it necessary to carry out a large-scale reform of the strategy of the Bundeswehr, which takes into account the threat of a Russian invasion. This was stated by Eberhard Zorn, the Inspector General of the German Army, in his document "Operations Manual for the Armed Forces" cited by Spiegel. "Germany could potentially be attacked without warning, and this would cause great, if not critical, damage," warns Zorn. In his opinion, the strategy of the last 30 years, which, like in Afghanistan, emphasized foreign operations, no longer corresponds to the current situation. Instead, the Bundeswehr should focus on reliably deterring a potential enemy and "be prepared for a forced war." "War in Europe has become a reality again," Zorn said. Instead of mobile special forces, the general recommends focusing on large formations of troops ready to deploy and conduct operations, and not wait for U.S. support. Neither the EU nor NATO, warns Zorn, can afford to "start planning and building up forces only after the attacks". By 2024, the Bundeswehr plans to have at least one fully equipped and operational division of 10,000 men. In May, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced the creation of Europe's largest army within NATO. According to him, this is how Berlin strengthens the security of Germany and its allies. The German authorities allocate 100 billion euros for the modernization of the armed forces.

Australia is still the second largest current operator of the F-35, with the US operating close to or over 500. 865 worldwide.

Based on population and GDP its a start, but imo from a point less than zero. Still commendable.
