Politics The Biden thread

Imagine being dumb enough to think your student loans were going to be canceled through an unconstitutional executive order to sucker you out of your vote.

Pay up, losers!
And the funny thing is that it was plainly obvious for all to see months ago that it was inconstitutional, but that would have required getting off of tiktok for two minutes.

You know what is funny with that clip?

It is exactly what is going on with Katie Hobbs. Secretary of State for Arizona, in charge of supervising electoral process (!), running for governor.

What is more important, the Senate or the House?

The dems might even improve in Senate after the Georgia runoff.

Worse economy in 40 years, worse inflation, high gas prices, senile president...the only thing worse was the level of the GOP candidates.

The Americans sent a message: they did not like the attack on the 2020 elections and the jan 6th insurrection.

The good out of this is that conservatives won't be as afraid of Trump and his gang of Trumpistas and a real conservative movement can clean up the mess.

So much for the "bloodbath" midterms ?
. I hope both parties go with completely new presidential candidates and that maybe there is a really strong independant so that Americans actually get some choice.

FTX made waves with early endorsements by NFL legend Tom Brady, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, and NBA superstar Stephen Curry. FTX spent big money on a Super Bowl commercial featuring "Seinfeld" creator Larry David.

I think people WAY under estimate, like REALLY under estimate the impact of biased media have had on the national discourse, including elections. If the MSM actually reported unbiased news, without running interference for one side or another, the results would have been different.
conservatives dont seem to have coherent response to the lies and misleading info about them and their policies, what they want to achieve, and what they stand for.

I agree, surfpunk. if the Joe Q. Public actually looked deeper than what he/she/it was hearing from the MSM, the votes would be a lot more on the Republican side. Unfortunately, most people cannot be bothered to learn anything more than what they hear on the hourly news. And even that’s a stretch for a lot of them.

I think you are underestimating the folks here. Interestingly there were a lot of split votes meaning that some people voted Republican for one position and dem for another. People voted as independents. Candidate quality seems to have been the most important issue.

And perhaps (but that is just my opinion) one quality element was not having been part of the election denial movement that led to Jan 6th insurrection.

Republicans in New York picked up 4 seats...a great result in a blue state, but listen to one of the guys talking on Fox discretely saying to the losers on his side that he tried to be focused on issues. That's a little reminder to the moronic election deniers from the GOP who focused on revenge rather than issues.

And moderate dems seem to have been the real winners too instead of the insane squad mob. Lots of work for the dems...an enormous opportunity to recenter...that they will probably fail at.

I still remember the national sense of bewilderment when the 2000 election took longer than a day. I remember 2004, 2008, and 2016 all ending in a day.

In 2016 The NY Times did a video on how crazy it was to not have the results of an election on the day of the election.

Then 2020 happened and we’re all supposed to pretend this is all normal.

Some friends live in the densest part of the capital of Arizona, it has been a week now, and per the Maricopa County Recorder's website their same-day ballot still hasn't been counted.

I think that is BS

There is a lot of crazy in the world, but crazy things should always be checked.

EDIT: it is not full BS but incomplete. The US players, as shown on the original article have the traditional US coat of arms but the colored version is on a few publicity displays at the US base. Let' s just say that Disclose TV played with the facts to score a cheap point.
