Politics Riots in Gaza and Israel

What are you talking about? Iran's electricity access is 100%. Moreover, it is the largest producer of research papers in the Middle East, surpassing Israel and Turkey. With 60% of students being female.

Some of you apparently think that Iran is some backwater country. It isn't, despite being the most sanctioned country in the world.

it seems like Iran should shake off the arabization/islamization and get rid of this foreign influence.

Nice pictures, but the people in those pictures would enjoy a life without Mullah regime more I'm sure. Don't you think? They do not look exactly like they are fond of religious nuttery and all ist consequences.

Sure Iran is not Afghanistan, but you brought up the world dominance duo China-Iran. And to get there quite a bit more is needed.

Anyway Iranians are known (in the West) for being smart and determined. The few Exil-Iranians I know (some even do not use Iranians they call themselves Persians) have all good education for their children and have good jobs themselves.

Why Iran as a nation not get rid of the Mullahs and concentrate on the well being of ist population? Same applies for Palestine.

Why invest so much in hatred and useless violence? Ist quite stupid frankly spoken. And it will lead nowhere, also not eventually in 150 years.

Far too much common sense in your statement for the Mullah-lovers to contemplate, they are in it for the powah!!

As I've said before, the clerical regime will eventually die out. They are out of touch with the new generations and their brand of politics has past the expiration date.

But be careful what you wish for. Iran is already moving towards a military dictatorship, and with the security apparatus (IRGC) getting more powerful, Iran might become Russia 2.0. Which probably means greater social freedoms for the people but also more authoritarianism.

Despite what some might think over here, I'm not a support of the current rulership. But they have one thing right: Iran must retain an active regional policy. Your proposal of a western, pacifist-like regional posture doesn't suit the Middle East. In order to prevent Iran from ever again to fall under the domination of western powers, with its national resources being squandered and stolen and facing a western-backed army (Iraq) that used chemical weapons on Iranian cities and troops, Iran must be present everywhere in the region. And anything that stands in its way, whether the US or Israel, must be confronted.

Iran has never been Arabized. And political Islam will eventually fade away as a force. But whether some like it or not, most Iranians are muslim and Islam is part of Iran's history and spiritual life.

I mean, it has given us this absolute gems of Iranian architecture:

Iran is going to have to postpone its invasion of Israel I suppose.

I am seeing rumors about a friendly-fire incident caused by an Iranian frigate firing a missile at it.

That aging military equipment has seen fatal accidents as recently as Tuesday, when a malfunction in the ejector seats of an Iranian F-5 dating back to before the revolution killed two pilots while the aircraft was parked in a hangar.

Ouch!

We did hear all the sailors on the Kharg were able to abandon ship without any casualties so that's fortunate. Bad way to go for the 2 Iranian F-5 pilots to go. PBH.

yes, those frescoes are amazing, and beautiful... to me, those works of art say more about the Persian mind, culture and skill, than they do about Islam.
It still seems to me that Islam is a foreign culture to "Iran", an ideology put in place by an alien invader, by force, during a moment of national weakness.
Islam is the reflection of, the product of, the expression of Arabic culture, and certainly Persia had to bend to Islam, not the other way around...
Islam was used to suppress and subdue the Persians, not to nurture and protect Persian culture. Make someone forget who they were, and you have an ally, no matter how much or how violently they originally were opposed you.
Maybe it doesnt matter anymore, but I think it does...
I think it was Carl Jung that wrote about "genetic memory", or something like that, and so it remains that the Persian mind chafes under the yoke of a foreigner, and at the moment, the Persian's destiny and potential have been strangled by this Islamic occupier.

Maybe their neighbours are firing thousands of unguided rockets into their country? Have they checked for this?

How’s that related to the topic of the thread though?
