Politics Protests in Belarus

Still have no clue how this is going turn out medium term

Lithuania is going to be very much pissed off because Lukashenko is moving Belarusian transit away from Lithuanian ports in responce to Lithuanian sanctions and that is a hurtful blow to her little economy, same goes for Poland some of her goods are already blocked from Belarus.

Yeah, Baltic to Black sea canal project is probably kaput as well. However, the current status quo is untenable, and I don't think that in its current form Belarus economy can last long with or without Lukashenko.

Dozens (?) of protesters dispersed near WWII museum in the city center.
Why did they use colored water btw?

NEXTA have sent some suicidal flyers "how to behave during the protests" after the inauguration and called for massive protests. As well as Tihanovskaya & Co did.

Peaceful protesters lecture riot police on human rights adding some of their political reasons (you'll be hanged you cowards).

I didn't here the word hang anywhere, but yeah the protesters were asking what's going to happen to you in a year or two and referring to Winchesters, maybe I misheard, but I didn't get the reference

The use of color dye is the means of marking "protesters" for subsequent arrests. Another option is to dispense "unpleasant odors" to disperse crowds.

Yep, the video was edited after it first appeared on tut.by live stream. Many words were muted.

It's either color dye for marking rioters or raw sewage. This is eastern Europe so I'm going with raw sewage. If that doesn't disperse the crowd I don't know what will ?

I'm pleased with Lukashenko's self-harming attitude. As Russia banned a lot of Polish products due to Poland being pro-Ukrainian and pushing for sanctions against Russia in 2014, Belarus is able to resell Polish products as its own ones and earns a lot of money. The Russians eat "Belarusian" apples and meat that are actually Polish, so Luka earns some $/€s in the West.
By trying to harm Poland, he makes the Belarusian economy even more dependent on Russia, as if the current level of its dependence wasn't big enough.

World’s Strangest Names | Top 10
BY MAGNUS347 · PUBLISHED NOVEMBER 15, 2016 · UPDATED NOVEMBER 26, 2016

Here are the world’s strangest names of the world. Some of them are celebrities, other have become celebrities just because of their name, and others were simply just hated by their parents. What would you do if you were born with any of these names? Enjoy the top 10 strangest / unusual names of the world!

10. Joker Arroyo
What’s funny about his name is that he has actually a very serious profession, a senator in the Phillipines. Apparently he got this strange name from his dad that loved to play cards..

9. God Shammgod
A professional basketball player and even played in the NBA in the early 90’s, so maybe you’ve heard of him.

8. North west
The well known Kim Kardashian and Kanye West named their son a quite unusual name. North West. The reason why they gave their son this strange name is probably because of the fathers name, Kanye WEST. Funny little joke they made right?

7. Ben Dover
Ironicly, Ben Dover is a well known english porn-actor, director and producer.

6. Dicksmasher mcironcock
A person was actually named this by his parents. Wether it was because his parents hated him or just thought it was a good name with no bad intentions, is unknown. His strange name was found by a postman that had to take a photo of it, causing the name to explode all over the internet. Wether he changed his strange name or if he still has it, is unknown.

5. Dick Assman
Having this name probably improved his business as a gas station owner in Canada. Especially when he was interviewed by David letterman in 1995 for having quite an unusual name.

4. KentuckyFriedCrueltyDotcom
Born as Chris, but was a big fither against the KFC for their animal abouse. He went as far as changing his name to KentuckyFriedCruelty.com.

3. GoldenPalaceDotCom
A similar name, but with a different story. A big casino paid in 1995 parents to a newborn child 15.000$ to give their child the strangest name ever. Most likely to promote this casino..

2. Nicholas Unless-Jesus-Christ-Had-Died-For-Thee-Thou-Hadst-Been-Damned Barbon
An English economist and physician and known to be one of the first proponents of the free market. So why the name?? His father was a Puritan, a strongely believe in the protestant christianity. In the early 1600’s it was common for Puritan parents to name their children with a christian message.

1. Brfxxccxxmnpcccclllmmnprxvclmnckssqlbb11116
In 1991 a child in sweden was born, intended with this name. His parents, Elisabeth Hallin and Lasse Diding gave their son this name and said it was pronounced ” AlbIn”. Why? Because they were protesting against the swedish name law.. This was because they had failed to register a previous name (it’s required to register a childs name in a certain time in sweden). They recieved a fine of 700+ $ and got their revenge by registering a 43-character name.
How about this guy? I did my Master's degree with him at Coventry University.

He was a nice guy. He was not a threat to anybody, did not shout or bang the table ;)

So Baltic tigers lose their profits, Lukashenko lose the profits commision, Russia almost effortlessly gets Belarus and the winner is ...?

Because the disaffected youngsters have to create media image of evil regime or they aren't paid.

That's not quite true. Our custom rejects some goods from Poland that tourists bring for personal use (coffee, toilet paper, ikea). Same goes for Lithuanian ports, only a small part of our exported goods will be relocated to Spb.

Sanctions and contra sanctions just started and it takes time to redirect trade streams to different ports because existing contracts have to be fulfilled. With Polish apples it will be harder though because they can be moved by cars and trucks more discreetly while corrupting officials on the way but we will see, it is just a beginning of the game.

BTW, I've read that inauguration for Tikhanovskaya in Lithuania is planned so I wonder if embassies of countries who don't recognise Lukashenko will be moving to Lithuania?
