Smaller platform than the F150, I believe Ford in the US have bought back the Ranger this year, on the same global T6 platform, but running a little 2.3L petrol ecoboost motor. Some talk of getting the 2L diesel we're talking about above, but I just tried to spec one out online and only got the petrol option.
had a C3 in Spain a couple of times - nice easy drive
Just avoid Goldcar last one we had we christened 'boing' as it made that noise every time we went over a bump - 4 bald tires and the number plate was something 1942 - and that was an upgrade.............

I don't think most Americans realize how expensive fuel is in the UK and Europe and much of the World. Prices vary here in the US. As an example I'm in San Diego right now and gas is running $3.65 up to 4.00+ a gallon;
$3.65 / US gallon = 0.857 Euros / liter
4.00 / US gallon =0.94 Euros / liter
..now in Cedar Rapids Iowa, where I normally live, right now gas is;
$2.60 / US gallon = 0.61 Euros / liter
$2.69 / US gallon = 0.63 Euros / liter
The Lowest price I found in the USA is in northern Mississippi;
$2.19 / US gallon = 0.51 Euros / liter
If anyone is interested gas buddy map will show you the price of fuel in the USA;

They should really break this up by State. I have no idea how Equinox looks like without the help of google. Surprised that there is no Prius on that list.
