French police are upset at how their own minister turned on them in the wake of the Adama Traore killing (who unlike Floyd was a real and active POS).

Protesting here are some police playing the song of a kiddie show (the bisounours in French / Care bears in English) on their loudspeakers. A bisounours world is in French popular culture a world where there are only good and nice people.

Hilarious, even people on the street are laughing.

And there is an interesting parallel to make, I think, with what is happening in the US.

Fearing it would set fire to the suburbs and such, the authorities more or less told the cops to stand down regarding the Chechens vs Algerians kerfuffle, while happily cracking down on nurses.
Anyway, I digress, stand down not to anger communities known for their unruliness.

Meanwhile in the US, though the police is under heavy scrutiny, the general climate is very tense, 6 (down to now 3) blocks of Seattle seceded, police reforms, and so on... cops are still "doing their job" as usual.
Not saying their job is to shoot people and the like, but it seems there isn't that overblown "let us all walk on very thin eggshells" approach adopted by France.

The police was there and separated the groups. In this vid, a chechen dude is complaining that they can' t get to the Arabs hiding behind the police, you clearly see the police. Should it have done better, probably but I was' nt there actually so I can' t assess the risks benefits ratio of driving in there with some tanks.

That' s cheap Ivan. You can' t agree with antifa being a terrorist organization in the US, but "just a nurse" in France. Granted she was' nt big, but maybe that' s why she thought she could get away with throwing stones at the police. And noone is sure that she is even a nurse.

I’m sure the police screw up on occasions but I can see why someone would tweet that.

I don’t know the salary of a police officer in the US, « never enough » is probably the right answer though.

I believe that it was TheKiwi who was predicting riots during/after the lockdown three months ago and here we are. One couldn’t have expected the killing of Floyd in Minneapolis would be that « spark ». Every black persons across the globe, even in countries and areas where nothing usually happen seem to have become a BLM activist.

All the ingredients for troubles are there. The economy is down the crapper. Many people have been left in the dust, and the police is also on its knee (here anyway) after having getting orders to monitor the citizens so they comply with the lockdown.

Sadly, no. The police have a tough job and their Democrat leaders, (in those cities), have turned on them and used them as pawns for for their own political gain. The Brooks incident was tragic, but the DA charged the officer with charges which could lead to the death penalty, BEFORE the Georgia Bureau of Investigation even completed their investigation. The mayor is a dedicated leftist and this was a chance to show her leftist bonafides by destroying and possibly executing this cop. Despicable and pure politics.

Second cop in the Atlanta one gets aggravated assault charge. Not seen all the video but the drunk driver resisted first. Became a wresting match and didn't look like unreasonable control by the cops at that stage. I know the US is a highly politically litigious place but that needs to be reserved for the politicians.
