Apparently they suffer from low maintenance and sometimes as usual in the Bundeswehr only 3 out of 8 were available. And they allegedly spent 1 billion in repairs.
But the Bundeswehr maintains stuff to death often.
Hopefully they can still soldier on for some time.

Only two of the German P-3's are airworthy. They suffered from undocumented wingcracks when bought, but the planned re-winging had to be cancelled after a fire destroyed a contractor's storehouse along with replacement wings for several aircraft.

The British Navy has landed an HCMC drone on the deck of the aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales for the first time. The British HCMC transport drone, created by W Autonomous Systems, was used to land on the aircraft carrier. HCMC drones are equipped with a new autopilot system that does not require the presence of an operator. The HCMC UAV is capable of transporting a payload weighing 100 kg over a distance of up to 1000 kilometers in difficult weather conditions. The HCMC drone can land on unprepared runways and requires a runway of just 150 meters to land and take off, which is just over half the length of the decks of Britain's Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carriers. In the future, these UAVs will be used to deliver supplies to the British carrier strike group, replacing the helicopters currently used for this purpose. The Merlin and Wildcat helicopters themselves will be used for their main tasks - detecting submarines or enemy ships.

Denmark’s first four Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II aircraft arrived home at Fighter Wing Skrydstrup in southern Jutland.
The stealth aircraft came from the Azores, where they stopped over shortly after crossing the Atlantic from their base in the United States.
This comes after the nation announced the allocation of $20.5 billion over the next decade to strengthen its defense and security.

A Norwegian F-35 landed on a Finnish highway for the first time. On Thursday, September 21st, an important event took place in the history of Norwegian aviation. For the first time, two Norwegian F-35As landed on a highway in Tervo in eastern Finland. The planes landed at around 15:00 Norwegian time after participating in joint exercise Baana 23 with Finnish F-18s. American F-35Bs have landed on highways in the past, but this is the first time the F-35A has done so. Combat aircraft are vulnerable on the ground, so by being able to use small airfields and now highways, we are increasing our survivability in war,” Major General Rolf Volland, commander of the Norwegian Air Force, said in a press release. After the planes landed, they were refueled with the engines running. In March, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark signed an agreement on a joint Nordic Air Force. The future Nordic air defense will consist of more than 200 combat aircraft.

Germany has signed a deal to acquire the Israeli-made Arrow 3 hypersonic missile system that will become a key part of Europe’s defence against air attack.
The signing of the deal in Berlin on Thursday was a “historic day” for both countries, German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius said at a news conference alongside his Israeli counterpart Yoav Gallant.
Worth about $3.5bn (3.3 billion euros), the sale is the biggest ever deal for Israel’s military industry.
The Arrow 3 system would make “German air defence ready for the future”, Pistorius said.
Germany has led a push to bolster NATO’s air defences in Europe after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine last year, urging allies to buy deterrence systems together.
“We can see with the daily Russian attacks on Ukraine how important antiair defence is,” Pistorius said.

The British Army received its first Archer 6×6 self-propelled howitzer (SPH) from Sweden on September 29.
The first of 14 Archers the UK purchased from Sweden arrived by roll-on, roll-off (RO-RO) ship at Marchwood Military Port on the UK's southern coast.
The government-to-government agreement signed in March will fill the gap left in the British Army's 155 mm close support capability by the UK's donation of 32 AS90 tracked SPHs to Ukraine.
The UK MoD said on its website that Archer was being procured as an interim solution to meet the UK's commitment to NATO's New Force Model (NFM).

Finland’s 2024 defense budget is primed to include funds meant to strengthen the country’s 830-mile-long border with Russia as well as replenish military equipment and weapons supplied to Ukraine over the last two years.
The budget, which is on course to be ratified by the end of October, puts defense spending at about €6.2 billion (U.S. $6.6 billion) — a nearly 5% rise from 2023. The Defence Ministry approved the draft budget with amendments in September.
The elevated level of spending is directly linked to Finland’s accession to NATO as well as heightened tension in the region following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
The expected budget increases Finland’s defense spending to 2.3% of its gross domestic product, lifting it above NATO’s 2% goal for member states.
A border-reinforcement plan embedded in the 2024 budget includes the construction of 125 miles of so-called smart fencing supported by advanced sensors and drones operated by the Finnish Border Guard. The smart fence, erected at strategic points along the Finnish-Russian border, costs between $400 million and $500 million.
The budget also includes a $272 million reimbursement to the ministry to cover the cost of replacing military equipment and weapons donated to Ukraine. The formalized budget will provide the Finnish military with $1.6 billion to spend on materiel procurement in 2024.

The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of the United Kingdom of Joint Air-to-Ground Missiles (JAGM) for an estimated cost of $957.4 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.
The Government of the United Kingdom has requested to buy three thousand (3,000) Joint Air-to-Ground Missiles (JAGM), AGM-179A. Also included are dummy missiles; technical assistance; publications; integration support; and other related elements of logistics and program support. The total estimated program cost is $957.4 million.

Beginning in the second quarter of 2024, the German Army will raise a new armoured formation – 42nd Armoured Brigade – garrisoned in Vilnius and Kaunas, Lithuania. The core of this 4.800-strong unit will be formed by bataillons which recently transferred some of their equipment and provided training to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, namely 203rd Armour Battalion and 122nd Armoured Infantry Battalion. The brigade's third combat battalion will be provided by a German battalion garrisoned in the home country but deployed on six-month tours within the framwork of NATO's enhanced forward presence. For this build-up, Germany will acquire up to 100 additional Leopard 2 main battle tanks. Norway and the Netherlands have indicated their intenton to contribute troops as well.
