Politics The Biden thread

So...Trump runs for Congress in 2022, Republicans capture the House. Trump becomes Speaker, impeaches both Biden and Harris and becomes POTUS. Re-elected in 2024 since prior 2 years don’t count. Change my mind.
75 % backing in the senate to covict.....

I just got a letter from the IRS stating that they've sent me a stimulus check. The letter was dated 15 February, while my check was sent 6 January. While there was some official gobbledygook about taxes, etc, the timing just struck me as Biden taking credit for Trump's work, but maybe I'm wrong about that. Not that Biden has ever taken credit for someone else's work.

I'm just waiting for everyone's reaction in the next couple of months. It might very well be the biggest case of buyer's remorse ever!

I got the impression trump was willing to hand out stimulus checks much sooner and at a higher cost.

But negociation stalled due to Pelosi sending the Senate on Summer Holiday and then it became a political/election tool.

Be careful. Memes dictate how the world will proceed.

Yup. All both parties and the establishment cared about was getting rid of Trump, no matter what the costs or ramifications. Now we'll all pay the price for it.

John Durham
, the U.S. attorney for the District of Connecticut, is resigning his post effective midnight Sunday, the Justice Department announced Friday.

Durham, a Trump appointee, is also overseeing a special counsel probe into the start of the investigation into former President Trump’s alleged ties to Russia and is expected to stay on in that role. His resignation as U.S. attorney was expected.

The Justice Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Hill regarding his status as special counsel. The department's website was later updated to say Durham's office will be located in Washington, D.C., another indication he will stay on as special counsel.

“My career has been as fulfilling as I could ever have imagined when I graduated from law school way back in 1975,” Durham said in a statement. “Much of that fulfillment has come from all the people with whom I’ve been blessed to share this workplace, and in our partner law enforcement agencies. My love and respect for this Office and the vitally important work done here have never diminished.”

His resignation as U.S. attorney is part of the Biden administration’s process of replacing U.S. attorneys appointed by the Trump administration, a turnover that is common at the start of a new administration.

When Trump did the same thing it was evil. When Biden does it, it's always the right thing to do. 2 = 2 except when it doesn't...

The obvious truth of the matter is that we now have several presidents, and Joe Biden isn't one of them. We have his wife, his VP, and his former boss Obama so far. I'll be curious to see who else is pulling the strings as time passes.

Did he just take credit for a Mars rover mission that had been planned, built, and launched long before he elected???

Yeah, back in 2018 (when NASA contracted Airbus for a rover concept), launched in July 2020.

But don't tell him.

He promised Georgians that he and Warnock would pass the $2000 checks immediately and even said that he spoke with Biden on passing it. This was a lie. He has not spoken about this since being elected.

It's not hard to see the goddamn difference between 'We will give you $2000 in stimulus checks' and 'Here's $1400 in stimulus checks because if you add this and the money you likely no longer have because you need to pay bills, technically you've got $2000.' There's sundry articles quoting Warnock, Ossoff and Biden, "Those $2000 checks will go out the door."

A promise to the people, made time and again
