Flashback to 1999

A suspicious device resembling those used in the bombings was found and defused in an apartment block in the Russian city of Ryazan on 22 September.[3][4] On 23 September, Vladimir Putin praised the vigilance of the inhabitants of Ryazan and ordered the air bombing of Grozny, which marked the beginning of the Second Chechen War.[5] Three FSB agents who had planted the devices at Ryazan were arrested by the local police.[6] The next day, FSB director Nikolay Patrushev announced that the incident in Ryazan had been an anti-terror drill and the device found there contained only sugar, and freed the FSB agents involved.[7]

The first Z-bloggers are already blaming Ukraine. Ab 5:45 Uhr wird zurückgeschossen when?

This is exactly how Putin escalated the Chechen War.
ok, but what does Putin have left to throw at Ukraine?

Biggest answer seems to be more conscription, aka more meat. Other than sending Ukr more ammo, how is this much of a problem - for Ukraine?

Yep, evidently expected.

Some commentators here calls it a Reichstag False Flag attack, whether the Nazi analogy is accurate or not, I’m inclined to agree.

But like Fluff said, beside a tactical nuke over Kiev, what’s there left to toss over Ukraine anyway?

So just a bit over two years of continuous high intensity war on top of a lot of previous animosity, they say that a vehicle plated to an enemy state can roam the traffic within their capital at will? Ok, move along now, nothing to see here.

Time to play a couple of rounds of "who wants to be a mobik". Guys between 16 to 70 must be thrilled at the autonomic-stans at the moment.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said today that Russia is now at war, blaming the "collective West" for the escalation. (Source)

If Russia considers herself at war, conscripts can be sent abroad. A new mobilisation wave might be underway.

@Fluff
Your objection follows the laws of logic, but what makes you believe the Kremlin considers itself constrained by logic?

Oh, f***ing hell. What next? Ukrainian passports on the perpetrators' bodies? Written testimonies and Ukrainian-language diaries?
Tbh, I was waiting for them to already come forward with some EU/Nato-passports (Baltic, Finnish, Polish or even Moldovan) to stir some S**t up, but maybe they will go for the usual suspect. Perhaps it's too early. Time will tell. They need to have their act together, no need to rush to ruin the choreography.

Wouldn't be too surprised to see the fuckwit Solovyev to tell in his show that "how a close confidant of his, who works with the FSB said that some folks who got out unhurt heard the gunmen speaking nato" or some other nonsense.

And the suspects are:

Lol, speaking Nato...

IS just claimed responsibility.

IS just claimed responsibility.
Because of Syria? Or something else?

If it is IS, it’s just another reason not to start wars, and send all your internal security forces to the war, where they promptly get massacred by real soldiers, not granny’s.

The dogs of war are amock….

As expected.

Although, to be fair, that's not saying much. They even tried to own the Las Vegas strip massacre.

True, but whenever IS claimed responsibility for something 99% of the time it turned out to be true. Beside Vegas.

As horrendous as it is, for the sake of the terror group « credibility » in its history they’re not going to make some random claim whether for some such massacre, or some bin burning in the streets.

The emergency exit doors are blocked in the attacked building in moscow...

Apparently, the Russians arrested some islamists in the Caucasus region throughout February and a pledge of revenge was made. Didn't know the arrests had targeted IS, though.
