"The rejection of the grain deal may turn out to be a usual blackmail on Russia's part," Western experts say.
The Kremlin confirmed that the grain deal between Russia and its partners had not been finally scrapped, but only suspended. It was stated to journalists that Russia is ready to rejoin the deal, provided that the commitments undertaken are realized in practice.
Yuri Ushakov, the Russian president's foreign policy aide, confirmed that many statements have already been made regarding the grain deal, including by the president himself. The situation is now clear - Russia has temporarily stopped its part in this deal since July 18. However, the country is ready to return to the deal if the commitments made are honored in practice.
