Seems like a lot of vacant land. Maybe they could build a university there. Maybe a luxury hotel. Maybe a business center. Nah, just waste all the hundreds of millions of dollars donated on rockets and tunnels over the next few years which the IDF will destroy in hours.

I would be hitting those with an airstrike
I think had a lot for SAM and AAG around near here!

weapon of Abraham's religion for IDF and Hamas!

The IDF did not do such thing. The Israelis have been trying to save face by throwing around all kinds of over-exaggerated claims of military successes. The fact to the matter is that Hamas demonstrated to be perfectly able to maintain large-scale rocket attacks up until the last day of the cease-fire despite the IAF ruling the skies.

It is also the height of irony for an American to accuse other nations of military overspending at the expense of one's own civilian infrastructure.

Yay- we can make war crimes every day! How good are we......

As to infrastructure, people in glass houses comes to mind.

USA might be a bit behind on investment, but for sure they can out invest most of the world if they need to. I'm sure they are getting round to it, and I'd take a long drive in USA, over the same drive in Iran, or Gaza, any day of the week.

Sometimes your statements seem to come from an alternate universe, untethered to reality. Like this one.

Military overspending???? Please.

I don't know, I just wonder if your statements come from an alternate universe, sometimes. Like this one.

You guys wasted $6..4 trillion on failed military adventures in the Middle East without achieving tangible results and have by far the highest military spending per capita. All this while civilian infrastructure in the US show huge deficiencies (Texas power crisis, Flint water crisis, etc) and societal tensions are reaching a boiling point.

So get down off your high horse.

That's what your little Secret-Squirrel hears told you?

The tangible results were that Osama Bin Laden was shot in the face, in his bedroom, while cowering behind his wife. Also, the US literally shits money. The Palestinians only have what is donated to them. It's too bad they can't invest in their own society.

MY high horse!?!? LOL! You are good for some laughs, that's for sure! :)

Most of that 6.4Tn was spent, mostly in USA, but a bit in G20 countries, and probably the odd BN in Iraq and afghanistan, with the locals.

Even if USA didnt go to war anywhere, they probably would have spent most of that.

And I'd imagine per capita spend on water, and electricity grid is still higher in USA than, say er Iran.

I know it sounds like a lot of money, but its honestly pocket-change, spread over 20 years.

When toilet seats cost $5000 and the spanner to fit them is $15,000 thats where the real money is going - not really, but its how USA hides its stealthhypersonic 'youcallwecome' aircraft. One day you may see one. Not sure if that makes you lucky......

At the point when the US managed to finally catch him in Pakistan, Osama Bin Laden was nothing more than a washed-up figurehead who mostly lived out his days by nostalgically watching himself on television. If you think that spending all that amount of money to get a guy who basically managed to lure the Yankees into Middle Eastern quack mires - at the expense of checking Chinese economic expansion at its infancy - then no wonder you guys are notoriously bad at strategy.

All this while income inequality in the US is reaching record levels.

The Palestinians in Gaza are dependent on donations because they have been put in the largest open-prison by the Israeli occupation force.

They may indeed have been put their by the israelis, but they have stayed their at their own foolish choice. Other choices were, and still are available. No city elder votes for every 5 years, lets get the neighbours to destroy all our buildings.

The only other option you talk about is complete pacification and the Palestinians basically accepting the fait accompli of Israeli occupation. That will never happen so forget about it.

Why? Moving on, opening an airport, building some hotels, doesnt mean you give in. Lodge a claim at the UN, name every street Jerusalem. The current situation isn't helping the palestinians, and while its probably annoying to the israelis, Its not going to make them say uncle. Also the ME isnt exactly short of real estate, so accept what you have in Israel, and buy some land no-one wants, and build what Palestine wants to be, show the Israelis what idiots they are.

If this thread has done anything, its made me look at some of the history, and if I had one comment, its that the Jews played the long game, with politicians, USA, they played the hand Hitler gave them, etc. Did you see who was responsible for implementing the 1948 accords, El Salvador was one of them, in 1948 what was El Savador? The palestinians need to play the long game, and not the victim game, its not working.

Why? Because their lands have been forcefully taken from them, and the Israelis continue to aggressively build settlements on their lands. There will be no peace until justice is served.

You should know better with all the experience you guys have with the Irish independence struggle.

I dropped a lot of humanitarian aid that fed, provided medicals, school supplies, shoes, winter coats for my kids in Afghanistan, Iraq, Mali, Syria, etc.......& killed some bad guys that were/are doing bad things to my kids. I wish I could have fixed things but it was not to be, we gave it the best shot we had.
