what does Iran get out of all of this? How is their success as a country contingent on this behavior? What part of their national interest, their economy, depends on trying to bleed the Palestinians/Israel/themselves dry? None of their actions have led to anything good, nothing positive, how is it that the leaders of Iran see women and children dying as absolutely necessary to accomplish their goals?
Its not all on Iran, the Palestinians themselves seem to have no problem immolating their own women and children... SMH
Is it the religious differences? The enmity of arab muslims towards jews that is codified in the koran for all time, no chance of abrogation?
Just a supposition from my part:
islamists in all muslim countries thrive on pointing out the failures of the secular regimes that did not succeed in providing a better life for the people (who breeding as rabbits don´t help the outcome anyways). Charities are important as they deliver directly to families food, medcine, an create a social bond.
This weakens the more predictable governments such as Egypt, Jordan not to mention Lebanon or Syria.
Iran does´nt give a damn about the Arabs but is interested in the public opinion of the Arab world. By posting its support like it does, Iran gains a trolling position to be a nuisance to the regular (and western-oriented) Arab countries. It uses the issue to gain influence in the entire region as the nation that cannot be ignored, as the leader of people of muslim faith.
Before he was toppled, Khadaffi was also a fun guy: his radio signals from Tripoli overreaching to Egypt, Tunisia and other places, excited the people against the governments that betrayed their brothers in palestine. I was told that he had that much trolling power that in some cases he would just take off for an arab capital without informing anybody and arrive as some sort of hero...and noone could just shoot him because of his popularity.
Iran wants to be the "go-to" country when you want to do something in the Middle East. It´s regional politics.
