Politics Riots in Gaza and Israel

M: 2 things apply here 1. "A true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him" & 2. “When peace comes we will perhaps in time be able to forgive the Arabs for killing our sons, but it will be harder for us to forgive them for having forced us to kill their sons. Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us.”. ― Golda Meir

I have a much more epic quote on why true soldiers fight, at least those in Iran, by legendary Iranian commander and martyr Qasem Soleimani:

“The battlefield is mankind’s lost paradise — the paradise in which morality and human conduct are at their highest. One type of paradise that men imagine is about streams, beautiful maidens, and lush landscape. But there is another kind of paradise — the battlefield.”

Chest thumping

let's take away the OMFG Iran stronk and settle on a few things...

IMO Iran is not to be disregarded, I consider Iran as the only other force in the ME today with Egypt capable of military skills. Iran' s rogueness is one of the reasons the smaller militarily negligble countries such as Bahrein or the UAE recognized Israel. That is why the only game changer at this point is a negotiated peace with Iran...but I don' t see it coming mainly because this rogue stance Iran has against Israel allows it to troll the uneducated populations of the ME whose leadership has settled for peace, and develop a political influence in those countries. Iran is a regional power. It is THE regional power today.

I stand by what I have always said: sanctions or no sanctions, Iran will get the bomb. As a matter of fact, the sanctions helped Iran move faster towards that goal than without. The question is when they will have it, what will their relations to the world be: a trading partner of the west or an arch-rival secluded in isolation. Will Iran be some sort of North Korea or a Pakistan (that I don' t like much with that capacity but a little more controllable)?

Iran presents challenges to Israel: it is further away, has the advantage of planting its proxies by Israel' s borders while Israel cannot do the same. And Iran will move ahead in its armament.

But so will Israel...And I doubt the gap will be closed ever. The Israelis have the ingeniousity (ranking among the top countries for AI for example), and know that every fight is a "last stand" fight.

I believe he continued the quote, with, 'and leave your bloody mobile phone at home!'

M: My paradise is home with my kids & my one beautiful maiden in complete safety without an enemy raining down missiles indiscriminately 24/7 on innocent civilians. My loving God doesn't require me to kill people that won't convert to my religion.

Our vision of 'paradise' is a world without idiots like him (Y)
