Politics Chaotic scenes as HK protests turns violent

If China steps in, it is because it is authoritarian? How many nations in Europe will let these types of rallies last more than a few days? Of course China wants more control over Hong Kong, it is a haven for most mainlanders who do not agree with Chinese laws. Hong Kong is part of China and so should fall in with what the Mainlanders anted. it was foolish of Hong Kongers to think that their two systems would last longer than it did.

This is not really my topic, but here is an interesting bit of info. Apparently Russian government controlled media was covering the protests as the "artificial creation" of the US State Department with actions on the ground being controlled through Facebook by Ukrainian "advisers". So, in response to Ukrainian "aggression", the infamous Berkut riot police of the so-called "Donetsk People's Republic" launched a flashmob in support of HK riot police:

That rally in post #86 was to call for the passage of the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act of 2019...Guess what? the US House passed the bill.

The U.S. House gave support to pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong by passing a bill that would require an annual review of whether the city is sufficiently autonomous from Beijing to justify its special trading status under U.S. law. The Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act is one of four measures passed by the House Tuesday in unanimous voice votes. The bill provides for sanctions against officials “responsible for undermining fundamental freedoms and autonomy in Hong Kong.”....https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...s-bill-aimed-at-supporting-hong-kong-protests

Will same city also be raising the national flags of other countries that celebrate anniversaries? Yep, that's what I thought ,-surre

The city of Philadelphia has in the past raised flags of Venezuela and the Republic Korea.

More than 50 people came out to City Hall on Tuesday to see the Venezuelan flag be raised in honor of their Independence Day.

Also at least US cities have raised the flag of the PRC on OCT 1st....San Francisco, Boston, Philadelphia. Three cities in three different states. All of them raised the Chinese flag around Oct. 1st, which as we are aware, is the 70th anniversary of China’s turn to Communism.

So Im guessing China can do the same and say deal with the Native Americans if not specific to American territories in the pacific.

And who would they sanction? Native Americans are making money hand over fist from their casinos.

Well they could find some shallow reason whether ith the issues over land or the oil pipes... you know shallow reason like what the US is doing now.

Waiting for the world condemnation against France for this...

Yup...

Though one can argue the level of force/violence used by the French police against de Yellow Vests, in the case of the firefighters and EMS operators... that was sickening.

it will be close to zero, after all Western bias an all that.

Ahahahaha

Meanwhile in Hong Kong.

That looks shopped...

The people of Hong Kong have been spoiled by living too long in a British type democracy...but I really doubt they actually think the US is coming to their rescue...should that even qualify as a rescue.
